PTC Hosts THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE 11/12-12/12

Philadelphia Theatre Company spells F-U-N when it opens its 35th Anniversary mainstage season with the multiple Tony Award winner The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, and conceived by Rebecca Feldman, running November 12-December 12 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets).

TURN OF THE SCREW Returns to Merchant's House Museum, 11/11-21

THE TURN OF THE SCREW, Jeffrey Hatcher's eerie, two-handed play based on Henry James's 1898 ghost story, begins a return engagement at the Merchant's House Museum (29 East 4th Street between Bowery and Lafayette) on Thursday, November 11 and plays two weekends only through Sunday, November 21. THE TURN OF THE SCREW celebrated a sold-out run in February 2010 at the Merchant's House Museum in New York City's NoHo Historic District. Tickets are on sale now to the public for the return engagement!

3rd ANNUAL‘MIMI AWARDS Held at the Vivian Beaumont Theater 11/8

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust has announced that the 3rd Annual ‘Mimi' Awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center Theater (150 West 65th Street).

'The Turn Of The Screw' At Orlando Shakespeare Festival

Described by Stephen King as 'the quintessential ghost story,' The Turn of the Screw was originally published in serialized form and eventually became one of James' most famous works. James added a new spin to the traditional ghost story by writing it entirely from the governess' perspective, leaving the reader to interpret her account's accuracy and truthfulness. More than a century later, critical debate rages on over the nature of the ghosts, the complicity of the children, and the sanity of the governess.

World Premiere of MOLUMBY'S MILLION Opens at The Centre Theater Nov 5

Boxing champ Jack Dempsey is in a pickle; he wants a fight, but crooked promoters, conniving reporters, and shady dames keep him from the fight he wants. He ends up fighting for his championship and pride in a tiny cowtown in Montana in the world premier of the new hard punching comedy by D.W. Gregory, 'Molumby's Million.' The Centre Theater brings this true story to life with all the force of a knockout blow.

One of boxing's most infamous champions participated in one of Americas biggest sports disasters in the unlikely location of Shelby Montana. Heavyweight boxing champ Jack Dempsey was the biggest draw in the world during the 1920s. His fights had million dollar gates and drew hundreds of thousands of people to his fights.

Performance Network Theatre Presents The Turn of the Screw

On Halloween proper, Performance Network Theatre will dim the lights and let the ghosts out of the basement for a one-night only concert reading of Jeffrey Hatcher's 'The Turn of the Screw,' based on the novel by Henry James.

DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE Closes at the Bristol Riverside Theatre, 10/17
