National YoungArts Week will culminate with the organization's largest annual fundraiser, the YoungArts Backyard Ball Performance and Gala, tonight, January 9, presented by MaxMara and emceed by Tony and Grammy Award-winning actor, singer and director, YoungArts Alumnus Billy Porter (1987 Winner in Theater). During the event, YoungArts will honor director and actress Rosie Perez and director Robert Wilson with the Arison Award, as well as performer, Tony Award nominee, YoungArts Master Teacher and 1997 YoungArts Winner in Theater Tony Yazbeck with the Arison Alumni Award, for their outstanding contributions and indelible impact on the arts.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) presents the third annual OnEdge, the experimental live performance series, February 19 - March 4, 2016.  The FREE admission series will feature Chicago and world premieres from national and international artists and companies at venues including the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington St.), the Storefront Theater (66 E. Randolph St.) and Links Hall (3111 N. Western Ave.).

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) today announced its 2016 YoungArts Winners. From more than 12,000 applications-the largest number to date-819 young artists from 42 states have been selected for their outstanding work and accomplishments across the literary, visual, design and performing arts. Two new exhibitions summon two painters of grand, perhaps flawed ambitions, yet of undeniable power.

(New York, October 15, 2015)-Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, announced today that British artist Cornelia Parker has been selected to create a site-specific installation atop the Met's Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden. The installation will be on view from May through October 2016, and will be the fourth in a series of site-specific commissions for the outdoor space.

The season underscores YoungArts' longstanding commitment to supporting the nation's next generation of artists by providing transformative educational and professional opportunities, including master classes, workshops, and mentorship programs with such renowned arts leaders as Carrie Mae Weems, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Frank Gehry, Wynton Marsalis, Jeff Koons, Kerry Washington, Robert Redford, and Placido Domingo, among others.

Multi-platinum recording artist received assistance from the National YoungArts Foundation as a 1999 YoungArts Winner in Theater.

NEW YORK, NY - Marc Dennis will have seven paintings included in a major group exhibition, entitled, Hyperrealism: Nothing is Static at the Daejeon Museum of Art in Daejeon City, South Korea opening September 4, 2015 and running through December 20, 2015.
