Genesis Theatrical Productions will present the U.S. premiere of the play SATIE ET COCTEAU: A Rehearsal of a Play of a Composer by a Poet by Canadian playwright Mike Czuba about the classical music composer Erik Satie and his complex relationship with the surrealist poet Jean Cocteau. The play will be presented tomorrow, May 12, through June 5, 2016 at the Athenaeum Theater, 2936 N. Long Beach Opera (LBO) continues its 2015/16 season with Francis Poulenc's emotional and passionate La Voix Humaine at the Federal Bar's Underground Club, 102 Pine Avenue, Long Beach. The opera will be directed by LBO's Artistic and General Director Andreas Mitisek and conducted by Krystof Van Grysperre. Seven performances of La Voix Humaine begin April 8 and run through April 17.

The Rice Theatre Program presents EURYDICE, an adaptation of the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus that leads to some funny, heartfelt theater and imaginative staging.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, presents the first production in the Theatre's new home, Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, directed by Michael Halberstam. The show runs March 16 - April 24, 2016 at the Alexandra C. and John D. San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced the Company's 2016–17 Season repertory and roster of international guest artists, conductors and creative teams scheduled to appear at the War Memorial Opera House, as well as initial programming for SF Opera Lab 2017 presentations at the Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera's Taube Atrium Theater. The Company's 94th Season will also mark Matthew Shilvock's inaugural year as San Francisco Opera's new general director, succeeding his mentor and internationally respected impresario, David Gockley, who will step down on July 31, 2016.
