Richard Move/MoveOpolis! returns to New York Live Arts as the opening performance of Live Ideas 2017 with the world premiere of XXYY, a multilayered work conceived and directed by Move, with costumes by acclaimed theater artist Alba Clemente and an original score by Italian electronic music pioneer Martux_m. The program will also feature Martha@... 20, a special performance marking the 20th anniversary of Move's highly acclaimed performances as Martha Graham in the Martha@... series. Performances are Wednesday, March 8, to Saturday, March 11, at 7:30pm, at New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues), in Manhattan.

The American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) embarks on a busy month of concerts on October 6 at Le Poisson Rouge in New York with Nordic Noir, a concert featuring music by Danish composers Frans Bak, Ejnar Kanding and MBD73. ACME will tour with Blonde Redhead from October 9-14, performing the band's album Misery is a Butterfly in its entirety, before joining Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson for a tour supporting his recent Deutsche Grammophon album Orphee from October 16-23. Upon returning to New York, ACME performs with German thereminist and composer Carolina Eyck in the world premiere of her Fantasias for theremin and string quartet. ACME and Eyck's recording of the Fantasias will be released by Butterscotch Records on October 14.
Award winning actor, writer and musician, Darian Dauchan unveils his Sci Fi Hip Hop transmedia piece Brobot Johnson at the legendary Nuyorican Poet Cafe at 236 E. 3rd St., New York, NY 10009 on Wednesday, September 21st at 7pm. The Brobot Johnson Project exists in three parts as an album, a web series and a theatrical production. The story follows the adventures of Brobot Johnson, an android newly invented by a scientist named Professor Toussaint and his quest to learn the basic fundamentals of how to be a little more human one mundane but miraculous experience at a time.
Cantata Singers' 2016-2017 season opens on October 15th at NEC's Jordan Hall with a concert featuring two Bach cantatas, and the virtuosic "Laetatus sum" for solo voices by Czech Baroque composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. Bach's Cantata 109, "Ich glaube, lieber Herr, hilf meinem Unglauben," examines the inner conflict between doubt and faith with deeply engaging, intricately woven music. The fiery finale sets one of the most famous of Lutheran hymns, "Durch Adams Fall," to music. The radiant and richly expressive Cantata 147, "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben," features what has become some of Bach's most famous music (known colloquially as "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"). eweddle@cantatasingers.org

HERE has announced its 2016-2017 producing season, featuring three HERE Resident Artist world premieres, two international presentations from HERE's renowned Dream Music Puppetry Program, the fifth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, where HERE serves up a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).
For the fourth year in a row, the world's largest solo theatre festival will bring selected performances to Warsaw, Poland for its showcase, United Solo Europe. A different show will be presented each night June 27 - July 3 at Teatr Syrena, a premier theatre venue in downtown Warsaw. Diverse offerings include a movement show featuring poems about human anatomy, a concert by a Polish-Italian singer, and an improvised comedy with audience participation. The festival will culminate with an original solo dance show created by this year's special guests, dancers from the world-renowned Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.
