Música Acusmática De México, Francia Y Argentina En La Casa Del Lago Juan José Arreola

El espacio acusmático, cinco obras multicanal para escuchar en la naturaleza es el título del concierto que se llevará a cabo el próximo domingo 30 de septiembre a las 14:00 en la Casa del Lago Juan José Arreola, como parte del 40 Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez, que organiza el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Romanian-French Playwright Matei Visniec's OLD CLOWN WANTED Makes West Coast Premiere

Inspired by a 1970 Federico Fellini film, three aging clowns compete for a job in an absurdly comic look at man's fear of uselessness in society. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble presents the West Coast premiere of Old Clown Wanted by Romanian-French playwright Matei Visniec in a new translation from the French by Jeremy Lawrence. Romanian-born Florinel Fatulescu directs for a Sept. 22 opening, with performances continuing through Nov. 4 at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A.

Night after night, audiences rose to their feet for the stunning musical thriller. The original production was directed by William Pullinsi and starred Robert Cuccioli as the Phantom and Glory Crampton as Christine Daee. 'PHANTOM' returned to our stage in 1996 and 2007 directed and choreographed by Tom Polum, who had been in the original production. This extraordinary piece will grace our stage once again with Tom Polum at the helm.  

Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt to Perform in MADAME PYLINSKA ET LE SECRET DE CHOPIN

After the successful tour of Mr Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran, the play that he performed on stage for 4 years, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt is back with a show that combines music and the dramatic arts, his two great passions. Both educational and intimate, this show confirms the author's close bond with the virtuoso Nicolas Stavy, with whom he had already created "The Bizet Mystery" at the Paris Opera.

NY Public Library To Screen 'Dibukim' And Hold Gesher Theatre Panel

After an absence of five years and under the auspices of the Cherry Orchard Festival, Israel's acclaimed Gesher Theatre returns to New York in early October with its two leading productions The Dybbuk and In the Tunnel. On Tuesday, October 2, just prior to the performances, Gesher Artistic Director Yevgeny Arye and company members invite the public to join them for a free screening on the making of Dibukim, a 60-minute film by Ram Loevy, winner of the honorable mention at the Haifa International Film Festival, which documents the production process of The Dybbuk and follows the creative team and actors during rehearsals. The screening will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session with Yevgeny Arye and members of the company. This film is in Hebrew with English subtitles. More info & trailer.

Opera/Theatre/Now announces full programming for the seventh annual festival of fresh opera-theatre & music-theatre, running January 5-13, 2019 and featuring ten presentations that "shift the whole paradigm of what opera is and can be" (New York Observer).

Review: THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT Inaugurates the Gloria Gifford Conservatory in Hollywood

Gloria Gifford is a stage-trained actress from New York City, giving her the necessary background to understand the intricacies of people caught up in a place where the traffic is loud and people live in close proximity to each other, yet still think it's necessary to always be screaming at one another to get the upper hand. Such is the case with the five characters in Stephen Adly Guirgis' 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning THE MOTHF**CKER WITH THE HAT, an urban comedy now being presented as the inaugural production at the Gloria Gifford Conservatory for the Performing Arts new location on Theater Row in Hollywood.

Israel's Gesher Theatre Returns To NYC With Two New Productions

Maria Shclover and Irina Shabshis, Cherry Orchard Festival co-founders and producers, today announced Israel's celebrated Gesher Theatre will return to New York City in early October with its two leading productions The Dybbuk and In the Tunnel at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College (524 West 59 Street).  Founded in 1991 in Tel Aviv by director Yevgeny Arye, these Gesher Theatre productions are being presented as part of a North American tour, which includes performances in Toronto and Pittsburgh. Performances are October 3 and 4 for The Dybbuk and October 6 and 7 for In the Tunnel.

The Dramatists Guild of America and Cherry Lane Theatre are launching the Power Grid Festival on July 10, 2018. Power Grid: A Festival of Puerto Rican Theater Voices is a fundraising festival of six play readings by six Puerto Rican playwrights: Sylvia Bofill, Kisha Tikina Burgos, Joaquin Octavio Gonzalez Rios, Gil Rene Rodriguez, Tere Martinez, and Myrna Casas.

Well after seminal indie kosmische act Stereolab dissipated and its members parted ways to move along their own separate paths, long-term keyboard player Morgane Lhote eventually emerged on the music scene a few years ago as Hologram Teen. This solo electronic motorik disco project has produced several 7' and an EP. Now she will finally be releasing her debut album 'Between The Funk and The Fear' digitally on July 6.
