Playwrights Horizons Announces New Additions to Online Auction

Acclaimed Off-Broadway not-for-profit theater company Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced additional details for its 2012 special online Auction. Bidding for the auction, which already features an outstanding array of unique opportunities and experiences, is now underway at www.BiddingForGood/PlaywrightsHorizons. Online bidding continues through Monday, May 14 (with items staggered to close at 8PM and 9PM).

Jennifer Garner et al to Be Featured on YouTube's New Channels

YouTube welcomes filmmakers Jon Avnet (Black Swan, Fried Green Tomatoes, Risky Business) and Rodrigo Garcia (Albert Nobbs, In Treatment, Mother and Child), who have joined forces to create WIGS (youtube.com/wigs), a channel producing original, scripted dramatic series and short films about the lives of women. Virginia Madsen, Stephen Moyer, Caitlin Gerard, Jennifer Garner, Alfred Molina and Julia Stiles star in the first three series, with Jennifer Beals, America Ferrera, Dakota Fanning, Michael C. Hall, Alison Janney and other acclaimed actors starring in upcoming series.

Sinéad O'Connor and Other Artists Added to Curtis Mayfield Tribute Concert at Lincoln Center Festival 2012

The lineup for the Lincoln Center Festival tribute to the late soul music icon Curtis Mayfield has been expanded with the addition of artists Sinéad O'Connor, Bilal, Meshell Ndegeocello, William Bell, Ryan Montbleau and Inyang Bassey. This one-time-only event takes place on July 20 at 8pm in Avery Fisher Hall. Previously announced performers include The Impressions, Mavis Staples, Aloe Blacc, Kyp Malone and Tune Adebimpe, Dr. Lonnie Smith and a 14-piece house band led by music director Binky Griptite of the Dap-Kings.

John Legend to Replace Lionel Richie on ABC's DUETS

John Legend joins a musical all-star lineup in ABC's major music series, DUETS. The show is hosted by Quddus ('Total Request Live') and stars the music industry's biggest Superstars. Legend is joined by Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke in the search for the ultimate 'Duet' partner in this one-of a kind singing competition that takes the Superstars out from behind the judges' panel and onto the stage.

Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards Set for Tonight

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), in association with noted Harvard Business School Professor Clay Christensen and the Disruptor Foundation, announced it will hold the third annual Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards, hosted by NYU Stern School of Business, on April 27. The 11th edition of TFF runs April 18 to 29.
