Three world premiere productions with settings in Montgomery, Alabama from the 1860s to the 1960s will be among the highlights of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's 25th Anniversary season. The ten-show lineup will also include three encores of ASF's biggest-selling hits ever, as well as a Shakespearian comedy and tragedy-and Tigger, too.

On May 22, Anthony Chisholm, Jasmine Guy, Samuel L. Jackson, Audra McDonald, and Phylicia Rashad will be participating in Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company Celebrity Golf Tournament & Gala. The event will also feature a gala party in a private Buckhead home for an evening of fine dining and entertainment. Tickets start at $200. Two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington, alongside co-star Viola Davis, a Tony Award winner and Academy Award nominee herself, opened the first Broadway revival of FENCES last night at the Cort Theatre. The 1987 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play by August Wilson was directed by Kenny Leon. The strictly limited 13-week engagement began previews on April 14. Jasmine Guy, celebrated American star of television, film and Broadway, will join the cast of Pearl Cleage's The Nacirema Society Requests the Honor of Your Presence at a Celebration of Their First One-Hundred Years. This world premiere co-production will be directed by the Alliance's own Susan V. Booth at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival Sept. 24 - Oct. 3 and then at the Alliance Theatre Oct. 20 - Nov. 14.

Tony Award nominated actress Debbie Allen will direct the new musical TWIST at the Alliance Theatre from September 1 through October 3 as a part of the 2010-2011 season.

With final ticket sales tallied for A Christmas Story, The Musical!, Kansas City Rep's artistic director Eric Rosen, who also directed the record-breaking world premiere, has announced that the production earned $883,151.50 in gross revenue.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's holiday production of 'A Christmas Story: The Musical' continues to charm audiences through January 3, 2010. The new holiday show is the highest-grossing show in the Rep's 45-year history.
