Producer Joey Parnes announced today that the new musical Bright Star, from Grammy and Emmy winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell, will play a limited engagement at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater in Washington, D.C. ahead of an anticipated spring 2016 opening on Broadway. Producers have announced that A.R. GURNEY'S SYLVIA, a modern romantic comedy about a marriage and a dog, will have its first Broadway bow-ow-ow this Fall, beginning previews Friday, September 25, 2015, at a Shubert theatre to be announced.
In response to popular demand, Labyrinth Theater Company (Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Executive Director Danny Feldman) extends the world premiere of Melissa Ross's Nice Girl to June 14. The production, which opens on May 27, reunites the Labyrinth Theater Company member with director Mimi O'Donnell, who worked together on the 2011 production of Thinner Than Water. Called "zesty, muscular and quick-witted," by Time Out New York, Thinner Than Water marked both the playwriting debut of Ross and the directorial debut of O'Donnell.
