Today we are talking to a talented writer and journalist who has penned the definitive book on the hottest UK crossover TV series of the new millennium, the early 20th century-set family period drama DOWNTON ABBEY, with her estimable new tome now available, THE CHRONICLES OF DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA - Jessica Fellowes. Discussing many of the most alluring aspects of the hit Brit series, especially insofar as an international audience is concerned, as well as adding even more historical, political and social insight into the proceedings on the show over the course of its run so far, Fellowes and I assess many of the most arresting aspects of the three seasons of the series as well as the comprehensive behind-the-scenes look that she provides (along with Matthew Sturgis) in THE CHRONICLES OF DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA. Here is a list of my favorite productions produced in Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos, and the surrounding areas during the last half of 2012. As all of the productions listed were spectacular, it proved impossible for me to rank them, so here they are presented in alphabetical order. Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has announced the cast for the timeless tale of Camelot, running Jan. 22 - Feb. 3, 2013 at Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle adds Ayad Akhtar, Kirsten Greenidge, Stephen Karam, Lisa Loomer and Karen Zacarias to its list of commissioned writers.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced THE CLIENT LIST star is set to executive produce a modern-day take on the classic PRIDE AND PREJUDICE for Lifetime, currently entited DARCY'S TOWN. Sheryl Anderson (CHARMED) will write the pilot's script.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (http://www.orlandoshakes.org) presents two treasured and cherished classics - William Shakespeare's Othello and Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility - in rotating repertory. These works will be presented in the Margeson Theater at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center. Ticket prices range from $17-$40 with discounts available for students, active military, and groups.
