BWW Features: WNET Launches '66th & Broadway' Showcasing Cabaret Style Entertainment on Public Television

In its continuing mission to bring culture to people who wouldn't necessarily have access, to illuminate, educate, and entertain, public television stations WNET (New York) and WLIW (Long Island) decided the time was ripe to reacquaint people with the art of cabaret. In February, viewers in the New York metro area were able to view new one-hour cabaret shows featuring singers KT Sullivan and Jennifer Sheehan.

New York City is a mecca for arts lovers and performing artists alike. Continuing its commitment to bringing arts programing to the New York metro area community, WNET has announced that it will debut the new local series 66th & Broadway.

NYFOS & Juilliard Present GREAT AMERICAN SONGWRITING TEAMS Tonight

The New York Festival of Song marks its tenth annual co-presentation with Juilliard's Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts tonight, January 14, 2014 at 8:00PM with GREAT AMERICAN SONGWRITING TEAMS, to be performed in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at The Juilliard School.

The New York Festival of Song Announces New Details in the 2015 Edition of NYFOS Next

The New York Festival of Song's 'invaluable contemporary-music series' (The New Yorker) NYFOS Next enters its fifth season and shifts to a new format-a three-concert mini-festival during the month of February. The series is set to showcase new works from a host of composers including Adam Guettel, Gabriel Kahane, George Steel, and a preview of a pair of highly anticipated new operas: Paul Moravec's The Shining and Bright Sheng's The Dream of Red Chamber.

Juilliard alumnaSperanza Scappucci conducts the Juilliard singers and the Juilliard Orchestra in her conducting debut at Juilliard in the production directed by John Giampietro. Performances take place tonight, November 19, 2014 and Friday, November 21, 2014 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2 p.m., in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Tickets for Juilliard Opera's production of Il Turco in Italia are $30 and available at events.juilliard.edu or at the Juilliard Box Office. Juilliard students may attend for free; non-Juilliard students with valid ID may purchase tickets at $15 at the Juilliard Box Office.

Corinne Winters to Celebrate Release of CANCION AMOROSA: SONGS OF SPAIN, 11/17

On Monday, November 17, 2014 at 10:00 p.m., New York Festival of Song presents a special NYFOS After Hours celebrating the record release of CANCIÓN AMOROSA: SONGS OF SPAIN with Corinne Winters and Steven Blier. The album is released the same day on GPR Records, distributed by Naxos.

The New York Festival of Song Launches Its Second Season of NYFOS AFTER HOURS, 10/20

Monday, October 20 at 10:00 p.m., New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) launches its second season of the NYFOS After Hours cabaret series at HENRY's Restaurant, 2745 Broadway at 105th Street. These evenings are an uncanny mixture of intimacy and dynamite, the cozy and the colossal, with singers that one would ordinarily see on a much larger stage.
