The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director), winner of a special 2006 Drama Desk Award for 'Vital contributions to theatre by developing and producing new musicals' will present NEO5, a benefit concert celebrating emerging musical theatre writers, on Monday, April 27 at its home in Saint Peter's Theatre. Following the 8 PM performance featuring the voices of many of today's top musical theatre talent, there will be a champagne and dessert reception to end the evening catered by Kitchenette.

The hit, online television series THE BATTERY'S DOWN, presented an evening of musical comedy at Joe's Pub entitled: SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE: musical comedy... rethought. April 19th. The evening was directed by Connor Gallagher with musical direction by Adam Laird and was produced by Jake Wilson and Jason Knight.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) and The University of California, Irvine are once again announcing the culminating performances of a unique collaboration between a university training program and an Off-Broadway theatre: 4@15: FOUR NEW FIFTEEN-MINUTE MUSICALS on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at both 3 PM and 7:30 PM.

The Irish Repertory Theatre has announced that it will extend it's highly successful run of Brian Friel's ARISTOCRATS until March 29, 2009. The production is directed by Charlotte Moore. Aristocrats. One of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Irish theater, master storyteller, Brian Friel is at the top of his form with this touching story of a once powerful and aristocratic family in its days of decline.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Theatre on Film and Tape Archive is to tape for its archives The Irish Repertory Theatre's production of Aristocrats. It was announced previously that Aristocrats has been extended until March 29, 2009.

Jason Donovan, Tony Sheldon, Oliver Thornton and Clive Carter lead the cast of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott and directed by Simon Phillips, which had its first preview on 10 March 2009, Officially opens with a Press Night on 23 March and Gala Night on 24 March 2009. Bookings are currently open for performances until 26 September 2009.

Performances began January 21st, with an official opening night that was celebrated on January 29th. The return engagement was scheduled to run until March 8th only, but today's New York Times reports that the show has extended through March 20.

On February 16th, some of today's brightest Broadway talent came together at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club and celebrated the compositions of songwriter Katie Thompson. Thompson, accompanied each performer as well as herself on the piano, and was joined by cellists Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf and Allison Seidner.

Due to the overwhelming audience and critical response Sardi's management has scheduled additional Saturday evening concerts with Broadway star, James Barbour. The new concert series, entitled 'LOVE SONGS' will premiere on Saturday, January 31st and continue through Saturday, February 28th at Broadway's premiere destination, SARDI'S (234 West 44th Street - between Broadway & Eighth Avenue). Musical Direction is by Jeremy Roberts. Morgan James will be Mr. Barbour's Special Guest Artist on Friday, February 13. Morgan James most recently played Sheila in 'Hair' at Arizona Theatre Company. New York: Featured soloist in Bernstein's 'Mass' with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, conducted by Marin Alsop (cast recording, Naxos); 'The Addams Family' workshop; Pre-Broadway workshop of 'Godspell'.
