This week's event featured performances from the casts of PIPPIN (Ciara Renee with Sam Lips, Nicolas Jelmoni and Charlotte O'Sullivan), CHICAGO (Bianca Marroquin, Amra-Faye Wright, Carol Woods, David Bushman and Nathan Madden), LES MISERABLES (Nikki M. James, Adam Monley and Betsy Morgan), and ATOMIC (David Abeles, Sara Gettelfinger, Jonathon Hammond, Randy Harrison, Jeremy Kushnier, James David Larson, and Grace Stockdale).

The York Theatre Company, James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director, will present a concert version of an exciting new musical, BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN, based on Sergei Eisenstein's classic silent film, on July 22 at 3:00, as part of its Developmental Reading Series. The production has been developed in association with Algonquin Arts Theatre, William Whitefield, Executive Director.

The York Theatre Company, and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present the New York premiere of the new musical, Falling for Make Believe, written by Mark Saltzman with music arrangements by Keith Harrison. Directed by Kent Nicholson and with music direction by Ian Weinberger, the six-member cast features Jenny Ashman, Joe Iconis, Rebecca Ann Johnson, Ryan Reilly, Alan Schmuckler and Michael Winther. The single performance is set for TODAY, Thursday, July 10, 2014 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The reading is open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.00.

HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon, blazes to life in a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century's most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today. The show opened just last week, June 19 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street), and BroadwayWorld was on the red carpet to capture all of the opening night fashions! The York Theatre Company just presented its one-night only benefit concert, NEO 10, celebrating up and coming musical theatre writers, on Monday evening, June 2, 2014 The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The NEO 10 concert featured songs by this year's NEO writers: Bobby Cronin, Gabriel Kahane, Shaina Taub, andSam Willmott. The evening will also include songs by guest writers (and past NEO honorees) Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The evening, directed by Annette Jolles, with music direction by David Shenton, included previously announced performances by Starr Busby, Liz Callaway, Kate Ferber, Grace Mclean, Andy Mientus, Kristin Sieh, Phillipa Soo, and the ensemble from Marymount Manhattan College. On Monday June 2, Broadway vet and Epic recording artist Morgan James (Motown, Godspell) will bring her powerhouse vocals to (le) poisson rouge to celebrate the release of HUNTER, her debut studio album of original soul tunes on Epic Records. Classic and modern: horns, full band, lush and funky, she will sing from the new album, including her first single "I Want You", and sign CDs after the show.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director), has added Ken Barnett, Allison Cusano, Claybourne Elder, Marissa Perry, T. Oliver Reid, Amy Spanger and Max Von Essen to the lineup of performers for the one-night only benefit concert, NEO 10, celebrating up and coming musical theatre writers, on Monday evening, June 2, 2014 The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a champagne and dessert reception to toast the evening.
