Oklahoma City Lyric Theatre to Present BIG FISH

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will produce Big Fish, a new Broadway musical with a larger than life story, this summer at the Civic Center Music Hall. Based on the Daniel Wallace novel that inspired the Tim Burton film of the same name, Big Fish runs July 21 through 25. The show will star Broadway's David Elder and Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner as Edward and Sandra Bloom, respectively.

Tony Nominees Daphne Rubin-Vega & Elizabeth A. Davis to Lead Industry Reading of New Musical AMANDINE

An invitation-only reading of the new musical Amandine, featuring a book and lyrics by Winter Miller and music and lyrics by Lance Horne, will be presented on May 28, directed by Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Markus Potter.  The evening will feature the talents of Tony Award nominees Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) and Elizabeth A. Davis (Once), along with Nick Blaemire (Found), Erin Markey (Erin Markey at Joe's Pub with Kenny Mellman), John Kelly (James Joyce's The Dead), and Romain Fruge (Threepenny Opera).

Gloucester Stage Launches 2015 Season With SWEET AND SAD

Playwrights Horizons Now Accepting Lottery Entries to THE QUALMS' First Preview

Playwrights Horizons is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for up to two $5 tickets each to the New York premiere of THE QUALMS, a new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park and The Pain and the Itch at PH, Domesticated).  Directed by Tony and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park and Completeness at PH; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; this season's A Delicate Balance and The Heidi Chronicles), the play is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.

New Yiddish Rep to Present Wolf Mankowitz Double Bill

New Yiddish Rep presents two one-act plays by the fascinating English-born polyglot Wolf Mankowitz -- both of which were also made into noteworthy British films -- "The Irish Hebrew Lesson," and the world premiere in Yiddish of "The Bespoke Overcoat."  A theatrical feast in three languages, New Yiddish Rep's Mankowitz double bill, entitled "2 by Wolf," runs from June 11 to July 2 at the cell, 338 West 23rd Street.  Moshe Yassur, the internationally acclaimed director of New Yiddish Rep's groundbreaking "Waiting for Godot" in Yiddish, will direct.

THE HOMECOMING Runs Now thru 5/31 at CapStage

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its London Premiere, Capital Stage continues its 10th Anniversary Season with THE HOMECOMING, by Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter. Winner of the 1967 Tony Award for Best Play, THE HOMECOMING exposes issues of sex and power and challenges the place of morals in family life. Capital Stage Associate Artist and prolific director Janis Stevens (THE REAL THING, HEDDA GABLER, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, AMERICAN BUFFALO, FOOL FOR LOVE) directs. THE HOMECOMING will run from tonight, April 29 through May 31, with a Press Opening on Saturday May 2, 2015.

Kurt Elling to Celebrate New Album PASSION WORLD at Birdland, 6/10-13

Kurt Elling, the preeminent male vocalist in jazz, will release Passion World - his fifth album from Concord Records - on June 9. For his most ambitious project yet, Elling casts his net far and wide around the globe, using songs rooted in Iceland (Bjork's 'Who Is It') to Ireland (U2's 'Where The Streets Have No Name'), France (Edith Piaf's 'La Vie En Rose') to Brazil (Dorival Caymmi's 'Voce Ja Foi a Bahia?') and beyond, to explore the passionate forces that shake our souls. Elling - a Grammy Award winner and 10-time Grammy Award nominee - will launch Passion World with a weeklong engagement at Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street in Manhattan) from June 10-13.

Reality TV Hits the Stage in DUCK COMMANDER MUSICAL, Beginning Tonight in Las Vegas

Based on the best-selling book The Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson, preview performances for DUCK COMMANDER MUSICAL begins tonight, April 8.
