La Jolla Playhouse announces four shows for its 2014/2015 season, boasting numerous Tony Award-winning playwrights, directors and actors. The season kicks off with a Page To Stage workshop production of Chasing the Song, a jubilant new musical by the team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis, featuring book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, music and lyrics by David Bryan and directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley.
After opening to the season's best reviews and playing to wildly enthusiastic capacity crowds, Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Boublil & Schonberg's masterpiece LES MISERABLES is extending its limited Toronto engagement by six more weeks. LES MISERABLES will now play until February 2, 2014 at the Princess of Wales Theatre. This will be the production's final extension.

Featuring a lively cast of dozens, delightful music, gorgeous costumes, and those deliciously spooky ghosts, the Bay Area's favorite holiday tradition returns with American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.)'s celebrated production of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Now in its 37th year, this version of A Christmas Carol, adapted by Paul Walsh and Carey Perloff, stays true to the heart of Dickens's timeless story of redemption and brings a playful sensibility to his rich language. Previews for the new production of LES MISERABLES will begin Saturday, March 1 with an official opening night Sunday, March 23. The original New York production of LES MISERABLES premiered first at the Broadway Theatre on March 12, 1987, later moving to the Imperial on October 17, 1990, where it played until May 18, 2003, for a total Broadway run of 6680 performances. The casting process for the new production has begun and will be completed later this summer.
