The Riki and Bob Larimer Fund to Support New Works at York Theatre Company

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, announced today the establishment of The Riki and Bob Larimer Fund, a major gift in the amount of $500,000 to be given over a 5-year period and to be put toward the development of new works for the York stage, and marketing initiatives.

York Theatre Company to Continue Reading Series with MOONSHINE AND MISTLETOE

The York Theatre Company and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present a staged reading of the new musical, Moonshine and Mistletoe, with concept, book and direction by DJ Salisbury, additional songs by David Lutken and Mr. Salisbury, and concept and arrangements by Larry Moore for one performance only on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Robert Cuccioli & More Set for York Theatre Company's ROTHSCHILD & SONS Cast Album Release Party

Robert Creighton, embodying the spirit of James Cagney in this energetic, fast-paced, biographical musical, Cagney, playing at the Westside Theater/Upstairs, Off-Broadway, brings the Hollywood icon to life. He has the physical plant of Cagney, as well as a dynamic talent for tap dancing, singing, and playing the tough guy, not unlike Cagney. It was exhilarating to be in attendance at this high energy performance on Friday, June 8, 2016. The world premiere was in Florida, 2009. The show has gone through its own evolution on its way to New York.

CAGNEY to Play 100th Performance Off-Broadway This Month

Cagney, the new hit musical about Hollywood's tough guy in tap shoes,will celebrate its 100th performance on Wednesday afternoon, June 29 at the Westside Theatre, upstairs.  Cagney had its official opening on April 3, 2016 following 21 preview performances.

As part of the principal cast, Danny joins eighty performers in this new show that celebrates New York City in the summertime. It's centered around the trip of a lifetime for two kids, who, while on a vacation in New York, are separated from their parents. The city magically comes to life and helps to reunite their family in the end. It's all directed and choreographed by Emmy Award-winner Mia Michaels, and is written by Drama Desk Award-winner Douglas Carter Beane.

National Jewish Theater Foundation to Bring 'CABARET IN CAPTIVITY' to York Theatre

The National Jewish Theater Foundation, in association with The York Theatre Company, will present a special one-night only performance of CABARET IN CAPTIVITY: Songs and Sketches from Terezin/Theresienstadt, as part of the second annual Holocaust Theater International Initiative Remembrance Readings. The Pajama Game (1957), based on the stage musical of the same name. Teacher's Pet (1958), romantic comedy opposite the iconic Clark Gable. Pillow Talk (1959), the first of three her memorable romantic comedies with Rock Hudson which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Midnight Lace (1960), a box office hit mystery thriller with Rex Harrison. Lover Come Back (1961), her second film, also a romantic comedy, with Hudson. That Touch of Mink (1962), a romantic comedy with the iconic Cary Grant. The Thrill of It All (1963), a romantic comedy with wry, handsome leading man James Garner. Move Over Darling (1964), a comedy film, her second with Garner. And, Send Me No Flowers (1964), her third film, a comedy, with Hudson. Day was one of the top box office and pop stars of the '50s and '60s, In all, she appeared in 39 feature films.
