McCarter Trustee and Burke Foundation Officer James Burke said, "We're so pleased to support McCarter in this way. The arts have such meaning for me, and for the Foundation, and have a larger role to play in the development of tomorrow's citizens and leaders. James Burke Named Executive Director of Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center

The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center's Board of Directors is pleased to announce that James Burke has been named Executive Director of the WHBPAC effective November 18th, 2013. Since 2001, Burke has served as General Manager and then Director of Arts & Cultural Programs at the City Parks Foundation, the largest presenter of free, outdoor programming in New York City, where he stewarded more than 1,000 performing arts programs from conception to presentation. He is responsible for the renowned SummerStage and SummerStage Kids festivals, the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, and youth puppet programs produced at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and its touring component, the CityParks Puppet Mobile. Burke is the founder and chair of New York Music Presenters & Festivals, a coalition that meets quarterly to share concerns and best practices.

Prosecutors are demanding a year in prison and $30k bail for William Talen (aka Reverend Billy) and Nehemiah Luckett, Music Director of the Reverend's Church of Stop Shopping, for a recent performance the Stop Shopping Choir, costumed as extinct toads, gave in a JP Morgan Chase bank in Manhattan. The 15-minute performance in the Chase Bank has earned criminal charges of "Riot," "Menacing" and "Unlawful Assembly."

The Wintershall Estate is the setting for The Life of Christ, described as a 'five hour open-air play that tells the story of Jesus from the Angel's Annunciation to Mary to the Ascension on the banks of the sea of Galilee. The 38 separate scenes show the childhood and manhood of Jesus, the miracles He performs and the life changing teaching He delivers. The lakes and hills lend themselves to showing Christ in all his glory.'
