SILENCE! Celebrates 400th Performance This Sunday

Off-Broadway's sellout sensation SILENCE! The Musical will celebrate its 400th performance at the 3 PM matinee this Sunday, November 18th at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square, 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.) Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! The Musical is the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. After opening at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews, the show immediately became a sold-out phenomenon and was selected by Time Magazine as one of the year's Top 5 Musicals.

Producer Scott Siegel announced this morning that tickets will be go on sale today at noon via TicketMaster for the 9th Annual BROADWAY UNPLUGGED concert in which today's Broadway stars sing like the stars of yesteryear: without microphones! Unplugged! In this age of head-splitting, over-amplifcation the sound of the pure human voice soaring through the orchestra and then sailing up into the balcony of an acoustically pure concert hall is to hear Broadway show music at its most thrilling. This year's cast is headed by two of Broadway's most in-demand stars, CHEYENNE JACKSON and LAURA OSNES. They will lead a cast of upwards of twenty sensational singing stars on Monday, December 3rd at 8 PM at The Town Hall.

REBECCA Producers Have 10 Weeks to Raise $4.5 Million

Following REBECCA's cancellation on Broadway and the news that financier and stock broker Mark C. Hotton was arrested yesterday for his role in the show's collapse, Bloomberg reports that REBECCA's producers now have 10 weeks-until Dec. 31-to raise $4.5 million or face returning millions more to their investors.

REBECCA Producer Says Now Clear That Four Investors 'Never Existed'

According to the New York Post, Ronald Russo , lawyer for producer Ben Sprecher has now said that 'Sprecher had been led to "Abrams" by shadowy Long Island businessman, Mark Hotton, who told him Abrams died before he could hand over the dough, sources have said. There also were three other investors Hotton told Sprecher about who supposedly promised another combined $2 million for the show, the sources have said. But "following an extensive search over the last week, I can now confirm that there is no evidence whatever that "Paul Abrams" or any of the other three investors brought to this production by Mr. Hotton, ever existed," said Sprecher's lawyer, Ronald Russo. The lawyer said they conducted an investigation in both the US and England.'

Letter to the Editor: Anonymous REBECCA Cast Member Sounds Off

As previously reported, the Broadway production of REBECCA, which was to open this fall, has been delayed indefinitely and is now at the center of an investigation to determine if any criminal wrongdoing occured in the show's long road to Broadway.

REBECCA Producer Denies Fake Investor & New Production Being Developed

Now according to the New York Times, the United States attorney's office is investigating whether the investor ever existed in the first place. Sprecher told NYT: "I never made up or fabricated any investor, and I never made up Paul Abrams." He also revealed that a new production of Rebecca is in the works that he 'hoped to mount soon, on Broadway or elsewhere.'
