RLJE Films (NASDAQ: RLJE) has acquired all North American rights to The Standoff at Sparrow Creek, the upcoming thriller from CINESTATE and XYZ Films. Written by Henry Dunham who is also making his feature directorial debut, the film stars James Badge Dale (13 Hours), Chris Mulkey (Captain Phillips), Brian Geraghty (NBC's “Chicago P.D”.), Robert Aramayo (HBO's “Game of Thrones”), Patrick Fischler (Showtime's “Twin Peaks”), Happy Anderson (Cinemax's “The Knick”) and Gene Jones (The Hateful Eight). The Standoff at Sparrow Creek will make its world premiere at Midnight Madness at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. RLJE plans to release the film nationally in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD in early 2019.
The Toronto International Film Festival® announced today that the World Premiere of Donnybrook, the powerful new film from Tim Sutton (Memphis, Dark Night) will be the opening film of the Festival's Platform programme. Starring Frank Grillo, Margaret Qualley, James Badge Dale and Jamie Bell, the film is Sutton's fourth directorial effort, most ambitious project to date, and his first title at the Festival.
Jean Smart (“Legion,” “Fargo”) will recur in Bravo Media's “Dirty John” playing Arlane Hart, Debra's (Connie Britton) mother. Smart will join Britton and Eric Bana in the scripted anthology series based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard. The series reunites Smart with Bana, who she previously starred alongside in the film “Lucky You.”
NEON has acquired North American rights to Nia DaCosta's debut film Little Woods which premiered in April at Tribeca Film Festival. Written and directed by DaCosta, the resulting film is a reimagining of the traditional western film as told from the female perspective.

Miss Meadows, starring Katie Holmes, centers on “a proper elementary school teacher who moonlights as a vigilante.” Prim schoolteacher Miss Meadows (Katie Holmes) is not entirely what she appears. MCC THEATER announced today that the New York Premiere of John Pollono's Small Engine Repair will now play through December 21, 2013. Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, playwright/actor John Pollono, and James Ransone star in the production directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Fat Pig). Small Engine Repair at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) had its official opening night on November 20, 2013 and was previously extended through December 15, 2013. The show must close December 21st to make way for the next Lortel tenant.
