Birdseed is the tale of two young children who, living with their ailing Grandfather in the tenement district of a big city, find solace in a small garden they have grown and nurtured themselves in an empty lot. It is a place where they can find happiness. It is only when their garden has been condemned by the city, that they learn how dreams can really exist. The garden brings them greater understanding of life itself, friendships and the true meaning of miracles. This 'miracle on 44th Street' is a musical for children and grownups alike.
Cast: Katt Alexander, Dante Orlando Brown, Christina Boas, Priscilla Holbrook, Tina Jetter, Adam Kaufman, Sherelle Moore, Mark Singer, Brennan Spector, Lacey Upton, and Otto Walberg.

Representing the print and electronic media, 23 members of the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle announce the winners of 37 Drama awards and 37 Musical awards from 257 nominated actors, designers, productions, and more reviewed in 2008. Over 400 productions were seen in 2008 by Circle critics reviewing theatre from San Jose to Santa Rosa, San Francisco to Concord.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Artistic Director, Mark W. Jones-Executive Director) is proud to announce casting for 1776. Directed by Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, 1776 will run at the Millburn theatre from April 15 through May 17, 2009. 1776 was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Alliance Theatre ends its milestone 40th season by returning to the elegant and moving sounds of Jacques Brel, presented under the warm glow of candlelight in the style of a Parisian cabaret. Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, one of the most enduring musical revues of all time, is being re-staged on a radically reconfigured Alliance Stage. The addition of two-person tables and four-person, semi-circular booths (banquettes) right on the expanded stage promises a night of shared emotion and romance. Alliance Artistic Director Susan V. Booth will direct the hit musical production where guests can sit back and sip wine in a unique environment styled after a hot French nightspot. Louise Pitre Stars In Concert Version Of GYPSY At TIFT 10/22

Tony Award nominated actress (for Mamma Mia) Louise Pitre has been cast to play Rose in the concert production of Gypsy at the Talk Is Free Theater in Barrie, Ontario.
The new season at TIFT will begin on October 22 with the premiere of A Tale of How Ivan Ivanovich and Ivan Nikiforovich Had a Fight, followed by the concert production of Gypsy from November 25 and 26th. Next up is Assassins at the Downtown Theater Jan 21-30.
