Kennedy Center to Livestream EVERY 28 HOURS PLAYS Preview

As part of the kick-off event for the 2016 Kennedy Center (KC) American College Theater Festival, a special preview of the EVERY 28 HOURS PLAYS will be performed and livestreamed as part of KC's Millennium Stage Series. The preview consists of an excerpt of the collection with more than 30 one-minute plays inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, with participation by theater makers and institutions across the nation and showcases the creative outcome of a community outreach residency in Ferguson and St. Louis County, Missouri in the fall of 2015.

GREY GARDENS, CONSTELLATIONS, GROUNDED & More Set for Company of Fools' 2016-17 Season

Company of Fools announces its 21st season featuring five main stage productions, two play readings and a newly commissioned performance piece on contemplation that will be a part of one of The Center's BIG IDEA projects. The five main stage productions in the Company's 2016-2017 lineup include Grey Gardens, Art, Grounded, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine and Constellations.

Stranger Than Fiction to Perform at Seacoast Rep, 4/19

Enjoy TV shows like Firefly, The Expanse, Lost in Space, and Star Trek? A new crew of deep space travelers will explore the far reaches of interactive comedy on one special night. That same evening the cast will improvise a parody episode of The Twilight Zone. Space and the fifth dimension collide as Stranger Than Fiction presents: Space Voyage & The Twilight Zone Improvised! at Seacoast Rep, April 19 at 8pm.

Tony Winner Robert Klein Set for American Jewish Historical Society Benefit

The American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) is pleased to announce that Grammy, Tony, and Emmy-nominated comedian and actor Robert Klein will perform a one-night-only benefit supporting the AJHS. The special event at AJHS (15 West 16th Street), entitled 'Robert Klein - An Evening of Comedy and Music to Benefit AJHS,' will be held Thursday, May 12. Doors will open at 7 pm and the performance will begin at 7:30 pm.

2016 National Festival of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Begins Next Week

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance Unveils Collaborative World Premiere at NJPAC Performance and Gala Benefit

Carolyn Dorfman Dance, whose bold and dramatic works connect life and movement, hosts its annual performance and gala benefit at New Jersey's premiere performing arts center (NJPAC), Friday, April 8, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. Ten of Dorfman's stunning dancers will present the world premiere of Traces-her newest work in collaboration with her stellar artistic team from her award winning, Interior Designs. Her riveting and explosive Echad and the sensuous duet Keystone will also be performed during this celebratory evening. The Jerry Vezza Quartet will entertain during the pre-show reception, beginning at 6:00 p.m. and at the dessert reception following the performance. Traces will have its New York premiere the following weekend on April 16th, 8:00 p.m., at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC), Long Island City, Queens.

SF Opera Lab presents an exuberant new production of composer Ana Sokolovic's 'compelling and beautifully transparent' (Opera News) chamber opera, SVADBA-WEDDING, conducted by Dáirine Ní Mheadhra and directed by Michael Cavanagh. The cast features Jacqueline Woodley (as the bride, Milica), Liesbeth Devos (Danica), Laura Albino (Lena), Pauline Sikirdji (Zora), Andrea Ludwig (Nada) and Krisztina Szabó (Ljubica). The seven performances run April 2 through 10, 2016, and audiences are invited to a complimentary post-performance after-party with champagne and wedding cake. Cast Announced for THE HOUSE THAT WILL NOT STAND at Victory Gardens

Victory Gardens Theater concludes its 41st season with Midwest Premiere of The House That Will Not Stand by Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. The House That Will Not Stand runs June 10 - July 10, 2016, with the press performance on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Allen Civic Ballet & Allen Philharmonic to Welcome Special Guests for Upcoming Concert

LILLIANA HAGERMAN and LAMIN PEREIA DOS SANTOS of the Kansas City Ballet will appear as guest artists with the Allen Civic Ballet and Allen Philharmonic at the Performing Arts Center at Allen High School in Allen, Texas on May 19, 2016. This will be a joint performance of the Allen Civic Ballet and the Allen Philharmonic featuring Ms. Hagerman and Mr. Pereia in Act II of Cinderella. Ms. Hagerman and Mr. Pereia will also be teaching master classes as part of this engagement.

VOTES Offers Musical Theatre View of the Clintons, Starting Tonight at Castillo

VOTES by Jacqueline S. Salit and Fred Newman, composed by leading pop/country tunesmith Annie Roboff, is an 'outsider' musical with a canny view of the Clintons as a political couple. Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street, will present the work's world premiere tonight, April 1, to May 8, directed by Gabrielle L. Kurlander.

BWW Interview: Ricardo Khan and FLY at Crossroads Theatre

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Ricardo Kahn about his career and the play, 'Fly' that will be performed at Crossroads Theatre from April 7th to April 17th. 'Fly' is the soaring tale of the first African American Army Air Corps known as the Tuskegee Airmen. It is co-written by Ricardo Kahn and Trey Ellis and the Crossroads production is also directed by Kahn.

PlayPenn Sets Plays, Playwrights for 2016 New Play Development Conference

PlayPenn, Philadelphia's nationally recognized professional new play development organization, will hold its 12th annual New Play Development Conference from July 5 - July 24 in Philadelphia at The Drake, a new home for new plays. The Conference, including three weeks of intensive work on six works-in-progress, will offer staged readings open to the public. The six selected plays and playwrights are:
