A cast list has been announced for Pioneer Theatre Company's Concert Production of La Cage aux Folles, the beloved gender-bending musical comedy and winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical. La Cage aux Folles is the only Broadway musical to win the Tony for Best Revival twice, and is the source material for the hit film The Birdcage. The concert-style production runs just three performances, March 15 and 16, 2019, and is an add-on to PTC's 2018-2019 season.

Acclaimed Australian actress Jacqueline McKenzie will play the role of Alice in the upcoming Australian premiere of Mosquitoes by Lucy Kirkwood, directed by STC Resident Director Jessica Arthur. Jacqueline assumes the role previously announced to be played by Anita Hegh, following her withdrawal the production. Jacqueline joins a cast which also features Mandy McElhinney, Jason Chong, Charles Wu and Annie Byron.

Ten very talented students will be honored at THE THEATER PROJECT'S seventeenth annual Young Playwrights Competition Performance and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 9, at the Cranford Community Center. These young writers represent eight different high schools and ten different towns. The three prize winners will see their work performed by the professional actors of The Theater Project; honorable mentions will be presented with citations and gift certificates. The event, which is free and open to the public, has been proudly supported by grants from New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Investors Foundation and the New Jersey Theatre Alliance.

Headlining the concert is renowned American soprano and Grammy® Award-winner Christine Goerke, joined by Washingtonian bassSoloman Howard. In demand by major opera houses around the world including Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House Covent Garden, WNO audiences will remember Goerke's heroic feat of stepping in last minute to take over the role of Brunnhilde during the company's first ever complete Ring Cycle in 2016. André Raphel conducts the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on March 8 and 9, 2019 in its annual Classical Roots Concert taking place in Orchestra Hall. The Saturday, March 9 performance will be a gala concert and a live webcast. This year's tribute honors George Walker, the esteemed composer, pianist and educator who was the first African American to win a Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1996 for Lilacs, and who passed away this past August at age 96. Composer Robert A. Harris will be a special Classical Roots Honoree. It will be the 41st year that the DSO has presented Classical Roots, honoring the achievements of African American composers.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical based on the 2001 Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture by Baz Luhrmann, has released a new trailer, 'Love.' Moulin Rouge! The Musical will open on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Previews will begin June 28, 2019 prior to a July 25 opening night.
