The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2010 with an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites, and much beloved films. The 2010 series, made possible through the generous support of PNC, will run June 4 - July 25 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.).

Due to popular demand, Neil Simon's award-winning comedy The Prisoner of Second Avenue has extended its run at the Vaudeville Theatre until 25 September 2010. Directed by Terry Johnson and starring Jeff Gold blum and Mercedes Ruehl, The Prisoner Of Second Avenue is the first West End production to be staged by The Old Vic Theatre Company.

Yesterday, June 24, Sean Hayes, Kristin Chenoweth, Tony Goldwyn, Katie Finneran and Dick Latessa hosted a special 'Talk Back' and Q&A sessions as well as a CD signing in celebration of the new Broadway cast recording of Promises, Promises at Barnes and Noble in Lincoln Triangle. For the first time in over forty years PROMISES, PROMISES returns to the stage starring Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes and Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth. This past weekend, Elaine Stritch performed her 'Singin' Sondheim' cabaret in West Hartford, CT. As reported by the Hartford Courant, the A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC-bound star was simultaneously in private rehearsals with director Trevor Nunn. According to the report, Stritch and Peters were in New York working on scenes with Nunn, who then rode to Hartford with Stritch to continue discussions over the two-hour car ride. They continued work at the Roberts Theatre, the same space Stritch performed 'Singin' Sondheim' that evening. Jeremy Cohen, associate artistic director of Hartford Stage, is quoted as saying that watching Stritch and Nunn 'was like [being] a kid in a candy shop ... He's definitely an actor's director and listening them talk about Sondheim was incredible. It's as if they had been working together for decades because they spoke in the common vocabulary of Sondheim.'

Stacy Shane and ManUnderdog Productions will have on Monday, June 21st a reading of the new play, 'The Sex King' by Bill C. Davis ('Mass Appeal') with David Morse and Julia Stiles at The Clurman Theatre (Theatre Row). It will be directed by Jonathan Silverstein, the director of this seasons 'The Temperamentals.' and 'I Never Sang For My Father.' The production is planned for next season. Mr. Shane is the original producer of the critically acclaimed and award-winning new American play, 'The Tempermanetals.'

Three films on CAPA's 2010 Summer Movie Series at the Ohio Theatre will offer audio description for visually impaired patrons at no extra charge. Audio description allows visually impaired theatre-goers to hear a scene-by-scene narration of the on-screen action while they listen to movie dialogue.

Following the resounding success of RAGTIME, Drury Lane Theatre continues their celebration of ‘the year of the Director' with Jim Corti's dazzling production of the musical comedy SUGAR which previewed at Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, on June 3, and opened June 12 at 8:30 p.m. and runs through August 1.
