Photo Coverage: Broadway Unites in Duffy Square for Green Alliance Recycling Event!

Earlier today, the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, National Football League, Verizon, and Broadway Green Alliance united in Duffy Square to collect and safely recycle Electronic Waste. Cast members from AVENUE Q, JERSEY BOYS, KINKY BOOTS, THE LION KING, MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and WICKED were all in attendance to discard electronic devices such as computers, televisions, or cell phones. The NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee and the NFL are partnering with Verizon and the Broadway Green Alliance to collect and safely recycle electronic waste in New York and New Jersey. The recycling events are open to the public, and are a part of the group's commitment to a cleaner environment.

On Saturday, NYC Parks Commissioner Veronica M. White joined NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee President and CEO Al Kelly and Co-Chairman Jonathan Tisch, NFL Environmental Program Director Jack Groh, Council Member Donovan Richards, the Jamaica Bay/Rockaway Parks Restoration Corps, and more than 1,200 volunteers at Rockaway Community Park in Queens to plant 20,000 new trees and 5,000 shrubs at the MillionTreesNYC Fall Planting Day.
