In keeping with the general Halloween atmosphere, Class Act Books is releasing four new novels this month, all with a mystery-thriller theme. Each book is also a new entry in a series. "Shadow Revealed" by Tony-Paul de Vissage heads the list. This novel is number 8 in the Second Species series which will complete next month with the ninth and final entry. The first book in the series, "Shadow Lord," was named one of the Top Ten horror novels of 2013 by Preditors and Editors Readers Poll for that year. "Death is Magical" by RW Weiss, is another Hugh Winslow mystery, set in Lodgepole, Montana. Bringing more of that town's quirky characters and unusual happenings, this story ties together the death of a racehorse and jockey in England with the murder of one of Lodgepole's long-time residents. It is the fourth in the series. Debut novelist Linda "Burson's Rage" brings the story of a woman whose title emotion embroils her in deception, murder, and heartbreak. In Jack Frost's novel "Stacked Deck," detective Jake Coleman enters another struggle against Louisiana gangsters as he aids New Orleans District Attorney Trey Greeley's bid for governor. Politics, betrayal, and murder definitely mix in this third entry in the series. Class Act Books is in the second year of new ownership. On August 15, Class Act Books announced its releases for this month.
