The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) presents the third annual OnEdge, the experimental live performance series, February 19 - March 4, 2016.  The FREE admission series will feature Chicago and world premieres from national and international artists and companies at venues including the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington St.), the Storefront Theater (66 E. Randolph St.) and Links Hall (3111 N. Western Ave.). 

?The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater to continue the Winter/Spring 2016 season on Sunday, February 21 at 9:30 PM. The Meeting* has been called "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. A story for Slate.com called the evening "so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight." The 2014-2015 season sold out after a profile in The New York Times "Arts & Leisure" section. The February show will honor the iconic musical "Cabaret" with special guests to be announced. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director.

Since its founding in 1974 by Paul Zimet and Ellen Maddow -- former members of Joseph Chaikin's seminal Open Theater -- the Talking Band has remained a cornerstone of New York City's avant-garde theater community. La MaMa in association with Talking Band presents the world premiere of its latest work, BURNISHED BY GRIEF, a sinister, music infused romantic comedy, at La MaMa's first floor theater, opening tonight, January 27, and running through February 7, 2016.

Since its founding in 1974 by Paul Zimet and Ellen Maddow -- former members of Joseph Chaikin's seminal Open Theater -- the Talking Band has remained a cornerstone of New York City's avant-garde theater community. La MaMa in association with Talking Band will present the world premiere of its latest work, BURNISHED BY GRIEF, a sinister, music infused romantic comedy, at La MaMa's first floor theater from tonight, January 22, through February 7.

THE MEETING* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to Joe's Pub at The Public to launch the Winter/Spring 2016 season on Sunday, January 24 at 9:30 PM. This season will include tributes to Eartha Kitt (January 24 at 9:30 PM), the musical Cabaret (February 21 at 9:30 PM), Elton John (March 20 at 9:30 PM), Barbra Streisand (April 17 at 9:30 PM) and George Michael (May 22 at 7:00 PM). Special guests for each show will be announced.

The Monday 7:00 PM show will feature Shaina Taub, Aaron Weinstein, Mark Nadler, Molly Pope, Dane Terry, and Rob Maitner.  Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director.

SPARKLE & CIRCULATE with JUSTIN SAYRE - the official monthly podcast of the International Order of Sodomites - has posted its eleventh episode, which features an interview with Brendan Maclean, the acclaimed Australian singer and songwriter. Maclean - hailed as "infectious and hypnotic" by BuzzFeed - discusses his new EP Thought I'd Cry For You Forever, his role in Baz Luhrmann's film The Great Gatsby, his upcoming album with RuPaul's producer Lucian Piane and collaborating with Neil Gaiman on a new song. Also, Justin gives the back story behind his debut novel Husky, released this month from Penguin Books. New York, NY (September 9, 2015)—The Museum of Arts and Design's signature dance series, Dance Under the Influence, returns this fall with choreographer, writer and performer Jack Ferver at the helm. Acting as guest curator, Ferver gathers a selection of performances that include works by Leah Cox, Jacob Slominski, Katie Swords, Larissa Velez-Jackson and Jesse Zaritt. Mixing traditional with cutting edge, rigorous with playful, and the familiar with the unexpected, Ferver's lineup showcases diverse artistic practices found within contemporary choreography, and reconsiders dance through his singular lens. Dance Under the Influence, running from September 18 through November 14, 2015,offers a platform for the presentation of bold contemporary works that defy simple categorization.
