The Hollywood Reporter writes that STAR TREK and STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are in talks to write the franchise's next film for Paramount and Skydance Productions. Director J.J. Abrams is currently in negotiations to produce STAR TREK 3 through Bad Robot.

The Jack Reacher director took to Twitter this afternoon to confirm that he will (after months of speculation) helm the fifth installment in the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FRANCHISE. He's also expected to pen the script.
