Metta Theatre Sets Additional Venues for THE KING OF TINY THINGS

Metta Theatre today announces additional venues added to the tour for The King of Tiny Things, as part of the company's 10th anniversary year - Metta10, adapted for the stage by Poppy Burton Morgan from the book by Jeanne Willis and Gwen Millward. Burton Morgan's production opened at the Udderbelly Festival at Southbank Centre on 13 July and now continues on tour to Malvern; Stockton-on-Tees; Greenwich; Leeds; Doncaster; Bristol and Northampton. The press performance will take place at 3:00pm at the Greenwich Theatre. Additional venues added for 2016 include Salisbury Playhouse, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Dundee Repertory Theatre and Stratford Circus Arts Centre.

Metta Theatre to Stage World Premiere of MOUTHFUL

Metta Theatre today announces the world premiere of Mouthful, the centrepiece of their 10th anniversary celebrations. Mouthful is a darkly comic and at times heartbreaking response to the global food crisis through six brand new plays from six of the world's leading dramatists - Lydia Adetunji, Bola Agbaje, Clare Bayley, Inua Ellams, Neil LaBute and Pedro Miguel Rozo. The playwrights, with support from a Wellcome Trust Arts Award, have teamed up with six world-renowned scientists - Professors Tim Benton, Kamal Bawa, Suzanne Filteau, Ilkka Hanski, Molly Jahn and Tim Lang to collaborate on this politically provocative and theatrically imaginative production.

This summer the Almeida throws its doors open to its annual festival which celebrates the best of international theatre. Highlights of the forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include new plays by Alan Bennett, Stephen Beresford, Lisa D'Amour, James Graham and Lucy Prebble. There will be adaptations of Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Simon Stephens, and of The Count of Monte Cristo by Richard Bean. Enda Walsh's Misterman receives its London premiere; classic revivals include Polly Findlay's production of Sophocles' Antigone, Shakespeare's Timon of Athens directed by Nicholas Hytner, Bijan Sheibani's staging of Damned for Despair by Tirso de Molina, and Nadia Fall's production of Bernard Shaw's The Doctor's Dilemma.
