The Alden Theatre's Fall 2011 offerings include a rich array of performances by international artists in music, theatre, dance and comedy.

An August line-up of FREE events at David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center includes urban folk for families, a film screening highlighting legendary Stax Recordings soul and R&B artists of the 1960s/70's, evening concerts by rising American singer/songwriters and the Louisiana-generated stylings of one of today's leading Cajun music groups, excerpts from Bertolt Brecht's play Life of Galileo in an evening of music-theater, and a stylish evening of dance served up by Ballets With a Twist.

La MaMa, the world-renowned downtown theatre founded by the late Ellen Stewart, will celebrate is 50th anniversary season in 2011-12 -- entitled 'Homecomings' - with a two day celebration on October 16th and 17th 2011: The La MaMa 50 World Block Party and The La MaMa 50 Gala. The festivities kick off with the La MaMa 50 World Block Party on Sunday, October 16 from 2 to 6pm on the block of East 4th Street (between the Bowery and Second Avenue in Manhattan) that is home to La MaMa's three performance spaces, and where Ms. Stewart herself resided for many years before her death in January 2011.

Cirque du Soleil is presenting its major new acrobatic spectacle, Zarkana, at the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Performances began Thursday, June 9, 2011 for a limited engagement through October 8, 2011. The premiere performance is June 29, 2011. Presented by iShares, Zarkana is written and directed by acclaimed film and theatre director François Girard (The Red Violin, Silk). Musicians For Harmony will commemorate the tenth anniversary of September 11th with its most significant 'Concert For Peace' to date, featuring a powerful line-up of some of the world's finest international artists joining together to promote cross-cultural exchange and dialogue through music.

R.Evolución Latina's D2GB (Dare to Go Beyond) Children's Performing Arts Camp concludes tomorrow with a very special celebration at El Museo del Barrio. R.Evolución Latina, who has been featured on NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams in a segment called 'Making a Difference', is a collective of artists and activists committed to empowering the artistic community in order to inspire growth within the Latino Community through collaboration, productions, and educational support programs. An added focus to this year's camp is health awareness and the importance of physical activity as we address the growing concern of obesity in our Latino children. 'Through the arts, we will empower the youth to recognize the importance of leading and maintaining a healthy life' says Camp Coordinator Ali Solomon. This free camp will provide more than 150 underserved children ages 7-17 the chance to experience the arts through classes taught by NYC and international artists from the theatre, music, dance, and Latino communities. 'This camp is very inspiring and also fun... It's like a mission that we have to accomplish during this week, I'm just loving everything about it.' said Rosa Fermin one of the students.

The Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) is pleased to announce the fall 2011 performance season, which runs September 8 to December 16 and features international artists from the worlds of dance, theater, music, and film performing in BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater and Howard Gilman Performance Space.

The producers of the Tony Award® winning LA CAGE AUX FOLLES have announced that Palm Beach's favorite son George Hamilton will star in the new production that will run next year at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. The show was one of the Great White Way's biggest hit in 2010 and is coming here as part of the 2011-2012 Kravis On Broadway series.
