International Performing Arts for Youth Sets Showcase for 1/4-7

From January 4 through the 7th, International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) will host performing artists from Australia, the UK, the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States who work in dance, music, theater, physical comedy, and puppetry to celebrate our 35th Annual Showcase along the Avenue of the Arts with full technical productions of their work.
2012 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe Enters Second Week

The 16th annual Philadelphia Live Arts Festival enters its second week with seven Festival openings, including the U.S. premiere production of Montreal-based 7 Fingers' urban circus marvel Sequence 8. Week two also features the world premiere of idiosynCrazy productions' Private Places, by up-and-coming Philadelphia choreographer Jumatatu Poe; local favorite Brian Sanders' JUNK's The Gate Reopened; two New York companies, including Young Jean Lee's Theater Company with UNTITLED FEMINIST SHOW and Elevator Repair Service with Arguendo; Hot Pepper, Air Conditioner, and the Farewell Speech from Japan-based theater troupe chelfitsch; and a one-night-only showing of the documentary film Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present.
Philadelphia Live Arts Announces Staff Changes

The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe is expanding its organizational capacity with the hiring and promotion of several key staff members. New hires in the development, marketing and programming departments will help the Festival continue to commission, cultivate and present a diverse range of cutting-edge, contemporary performance and visual art works, as well as support the organization's move toward year-round programming.

From September 7 - 22, the annual Philadelphia Live Arts Festival will celebrate its 16th year with 16 days of cutting-edge dance, theater, music, visual and interdisciplinary works by renowned artists from the U.S. and international arts scene. With six world premieres and two U.S. premieres, the Festival is a platform for daring and innovative artists, bringing leaders of the contemporary performing arts world to Philadelphia stages.
