Tony-Winning Shows Reveal Boost in Post Sunday Sales

The Tonys are over, and now many of this season's shows are benefitting from the big night as a result. This year's Best Musical winner, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, will bring in a whooping $900,000 by the end of today, according to a report by Variety. Additionally, both Aladdin and Beautiful, which each scored acting wins (for James Monroe Iglehart and Jessie Mueller), will reportedly break the $1 million mark by the end of the day.

Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman returned last night to host THE 68TH ANNUAL TONY® AWARDS, broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on the CBS Television Network. 'Wolverine in tap shoes,' and far beyond, Hugh Jackman brought the bravado and belted with some dynamite divas as amiable emcee of the 2014 Tony Awards, while A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER was the big Best Musical winner of the evening. Plus, newly crowned Tony king Neil Patrick Harris got lucky in front of an audience of millions in full crazypants HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH drag, while Audra McDonald made history by winning her sixth statuette. And, Oz course, a WICKED 10th anniversary, too!
