A.C.T. Presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Now thru 12/28

A.C.T. to Present A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 12/6-28

Featuring a lively cast of dozens, delightful music, gorgeous costumes, and those deliciously spooky ghosts, the Bay Area's favorite holiday tradition returns with American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.)'s celebrated production of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Now in its 37th year, this version of A Christmas Carol, adapted by Paul Walsh and Carey Perloff, stays true to the heart of Dickens's timeless story of redemption and brings a playful sensibility to his rich language. A Christmas Carol runs December 6-28, 2013, at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco). Press night is Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. VIP seating is available for all performances. VIP ticket holders enjoy the best seats in the house and complimentary drinks during intermission. Tickets (ranging in price from $20-$95), are available by calling the A.C.T. Theatre Row's Becket Theatre to Stage SCRAMBLED EGGS, 4/27-5/11

Robin Amos Kahn and Gary Richard's Scrambled Eggs, directed by Matthew Penn, will be getting the New York treatment. It will get its New York premiere on April 23 at Theatre Row's Becket Theatre at 410 West 42 Street. The show will open on April 27, and play through to May 11.

Aurora Theatre Company Announces GAP Winners

Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company, along with GAP Producer M. Graham Smith and GAP Associate Producer Deborah Taylor, announces the four plays chosen as finalists by a committee of local directors for the seventh annual Global Age Project (GAP), the company's new works initiative that promotes the creation of forward-looking theater: The Hummingbirds by Garret Jon Groenveld; In a Word by Lauren Yee; Rasheeda Speaking by Joel Drake Johnson; and Ashes, Ashes by Kevin Christopher Snipes.

American Conservatory Theater presents the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, adapted by Carey Perloff and Paul Walsh and directed by acclaimed Bay Area director and actor Domenique Lozano. A.C.T.'s annual production of this beloved family-friendly gem has been called "a Carol built to banish 'bah humbugs' for years to come" (The Oakland Tribune) and "a holiday treat for the entire family" (KGO Radio).
