The Horatio Alger Musical with a Book by Richard Seff; Music by Roger Dean Anderson and Lyrics by Lee Goldsmith is being presented by Other Side Productions (Peter Mercurio, Chuck Blasius - Co-Artistic Directors) as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at The Theater at St. Clements, 423 West 46th Street. The director is Peter Flynn and the choreographer is Devanand Janki. Michael Bottari & Ronald Case are the set and costume designers and the lighting designer is Jeff Croiter. Marriott Theatre's THE BOWERY BOYS to be featured at NAMT 2010

The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL, has announced that THE BOWERY BOYS, which was presented as a World Premiere at the theater during their 2008 season, has been selected to be featured at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre annual Festival of New Musicals

SHINE! THE HORATIO ALGER MUSICAL Begins 10/7

SHINE! The Horatio Alger Musical with a Book by Richard Seff; Music by Roger Dean Anderson and Lyrics by Lee Goldsmith is being presented by Other Side Productions (Peter Mercurio, Chuck Blasius - Co-Artistic Directors) as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at The Theater at St. Clements, 423 West 46th Street. The director is Peter Flynn and the choreographer is Devanand Janki. With a highly melodic, hummable and bouncy score with bright lyrics, "SHINE the Horatio Alger Musical", has tons of period atmosphere, nostalgic charm, comedy and entertainment. It is a hope and dreams musical with a touch of "Annie", a smidgen of "Oliver", a dash of "Tintypes" as well as a smattering of musical joys that will delight! A multi-talented cast of 18 makes this one of the largest of the festival productions. Performances will be: Thurs. 10/7 at 8pm; Sat. 10/9 at 5pm; Mon. 10/11, at 9pm; Fri. 10/15, at 1pm; Sat. 10/16, at 9pm and Sun. 10/17 at 3pm.

NYMF Announces 2010 Full Slate Of Musicals, Readings, Special Events

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the full slate of 27 musical productions, a developmental reading series and special events for their seventh annual festival. This year's Festival will begin September 27th and continue through October 17th. A full breakdown of this year's performances follows.

NYMF Announces 2010 Invited Musical Selections

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announces the 11 musicals that have been invited by NYMF to be presented with the 12 previously announced Next Link Project productions. NYMF will also announce the festival's Developmental Reading Series and other special events in the upcoming weeks. This year's festival will be presented September 27 - October 17 at venues around Manhattan. A complete list of shows and their writers are below.

THE BOWERY BOYS To Feature Inauguration Discount

THE BOWERY BOYS, the world premiere new musical which runs through February 15 Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive; is featuring a promotion to honor both the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and President's Day in February. Since THE BOWERY BOYS celebrates the indomitable 'American Spirit,' anyone who arrives to the theater to pick up their tickets wearing red, white and blue from January 18 through February 15 will receive a certificate valid for two tickets to a Marriott production of their choice in 2009 (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Light in Piazza, Hairspray, or My Fair Lady). To obtain their certificate, customers wearing patriotic attire should visit the box office 30 minutes prior to the show.

Northwestern Presents 'Bowery Boys' 7/9-27

Northwestern University's world premiere workshop production of David H. Bell's musical 'The Bowery Boys' is a lyrical tale of homeless youth in the Bowery section of 19th century New York in search of the American dream. The show is loosely based on the 'rags-to-riches' works of American author Horatio Alger Jr. and the songs of George M. Cohan.

Northwestern Announces Summer Music Theatre Programs

This summer, Northwestern University's American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) and the Theatre and Interpretation Center will present the Summer 2008 musical theatre programs on the Evanston campus.
