Studio 2nd Theatre presents CONTRACTIONS by Mike Bartlett, directed by Duncan Macmillan, now playing through January 27, 2013.

The Washington Theatre community has joined forces to present the first annual Summer Hummer, a bawdy variety show benefiting Taking Care of Our Own, an initiative that assists DC-area theatre professionals & artists in personal emergency situations.

The Summer Hummer, DC theatre's most revealing variety show, plays a benefit performance at Signature Theatre for Taking Care of Our Own, which helps Washington theatre professionals with emergency needs, on Monday, August 20 at 7 p.m.

It was a starry Monday night at DC's Warner Theatre. Members of the local theater community came out from DC, Maryland and Virginia to celebrate the best and the brightest from last season. The evening was sprinkled with area favorites, a politician or two and even a respected film star.

When theatreWashington toasts actor and arts advocate Kevin Spacey and Washington theatre artists during the 28th Helen Hayes Awards, the most prestigious awards in Washington theatre, they will be joined by some of the top talents in politics, media and the arts. Tonight, April 23, 2012, theatreWashington will honor 153 nominated artists and present three special awards to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to Washington professional theatre.
