Theater J, the nation's pre-eminent professional Jewish theater, announces its 2017-2018 season, comprised of six diverse plays, including one world premiere and two regional premieres.  Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr has selected works by Jonathan Safran Foer, Alfred Uhry, Nilo Cruz, Mark St. Germain, Karen Hartman and Lindsay Joelle, as well as a stellar line-up of directors and actors.

SOUTH AFRICA: THEN & NOW—Two Monumental Plays by Two South African Icons in Rep at Mosaic

Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents South Africa: Then & Now, a dynamic spring repertory that takes audience members back to the depths of Apartheid, before moving forward to the ongoing search for truth and reconciliation in a wounded country. The repertory launches with Athol Fugard's seminal masterpiece, BLOOD KNOT (March 29-April 30, 2017)-an intimate parable about a brotherhood devastated by the constraints of Apartheid-under the direction of Studio Theatre Founding Artistic Director Joy Zinoman, making her Mosaic Theater Company debut.

2017 Helen Hayes Award Nominations Announced; COME FROM AWAY Nabs 14 Nominations

The 2017 Helen Hayes Award nominations were announced tonight. A line-up of leading theatre artists announced nominations in 47 categories of artistic excellence. Award recipients will be announced at the Helen Hayes Awards gala event to be held at the Lincoln Theatre on Monday, May 15 with an after-party hosted at Washington's legendary 9:30 Club.

Payton; and the 35th-annual production of Washington's holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol. Political comedian Mark Russell will return for a one-night-only performance during the height of election season.
