Segerstrom Center Introduces B'way Saturdays Education Program

Segerstrom Center for the Arts is offering local high school students the opportunity to participate in Broadway Saturdays, a new musical theater program taking place over three Saturdays in February (12, 19 and 26) on Segerstrom Center's multidisciplinary campus. Students will learn musical theater techniques and repertoire from Tony® Award-nominated actress Erin Dilly and Broadway stage veteran Stephen Buntrock.

Jazz Trumpeter Chris Botti Perfroms at Segerstrom Hall for One Night Only 1/8

Trumpet sensation Chris Botti, known for effortlessly crossing boundaries between pop and classical, jazz and rock, will bring his chart-topping talents to the Orange County Performing Arts Center for a special one-night-only concert Sunday, January 8, 2011 in Segerstrom Hall. A gifted instrumentalist, talented composer, charismatic performer and former trumpeter for Sting, Botti has risen to new heights of popularity with his critically acclaimed CDs, Live in Boston, December and Italia. Botti's performance is being offered as a Bonus Event in the Center's 2010-11 Jazz Series.

Experience the joy and magic of a traditional Viennese style New Year when SALUTE TO VIENNA returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Sunday, January 2 at 2:30 p.m. This elegant celebration features a brilliant new cast of more than 75 musicians led by European maestro Mika Eichenholz, Viennese soprano Patricia Nessy, Viennese tenor Alexandru Badea and members of the Vienna City Ballet. A glorious bouquet of favorite polkas and famous operetta excerpts by 'waltz King' Johann Strauss Jr. and his contemporaries inspire and delight a wonderful way to ring in the New Year.

Beloved songs from Cy Coleman's award-winning shows including Sweet Charity, City of Angels and The Will Rogers Follies and songs such as 'Witchcraft' and 'The Best is Yet to Come' will be performed at the Orange County Performing Arts Center December 9 - 12 in this heartfelt and personal tribute to the life and incredible work of this great American artist. The show features Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel, who collaborated with Coleman on City of Angels; Center favorite Jason Graae, whose special way around a song has taken him to the Metropolitan Opera, the Hollywood Bowl, Birdland and the Rainbow Room; Jenifer Lewis, who has starred in numerous Broadway productions as well as movies and television and the multi-talented Tami Tappan Damiano, who has appeared on stages all over the world.
