Reginald Rose's tension filled Tony Award winning play Twelve Angry Men is certainly a wonderful selection for the second show of the John W. Engeman Theatre's seventh season. Not to mention that it is emotionally on the other side of the spectrum from their previous show - the adorably hilarious Nunsense. This superb showing, running through November 3rd at the stunning Long Island venue, is excellently directed by Igor Goldin and continues the intense atmosphere that Mr. Rose created starting with a TV broadcast in 1954.

Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event. In the summer of 2010, FSLC presented the first Fasten Your Seatbelts series to coincide with and celebrate 20th Century Fox's 75th Anniversary. The popularity of that series, including screenings of classics like ALL ABOUT EVE, M*A*S*H and ALIEN all but demanded that Film Society and the studio present a 'sequel' at some point.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced today that Reginald Rose's classic drama TWELVE ANGRY MEN will be presented as the second production of its 2013 - 2014 Season playing November 5 - December 1, 2013, with a press opening night on November 10, at 5:00 p.m. The previously announced production of Stoneface starring French Stewart will be postponed due to Stewart's recent television role on CBS' comedy 'Mom' that premieres this fall. The cast of TWELVE ANGRY MEN for The Playhouse presentation will be comprised of a mix of African-American and white actors with casting and the creative team to be announced at a later date. Tickets are currently only available with a 2013 - 2014 Season subscription.

The Summer Solstice Celebration officially welcomed summer in Santa Barbara the weekend of June 21 - 23, and the highlight of the city's celebrations was the Summer Solstice Parade along State Street on Saturday, June 22. The 78th season of summer stock theater along the shores of Green Bay opens in Juen when the Peninsula Players raises the curtain on 'Saloon' by Terry Twyman. Summer stock theaters sprang up in the early decades of the 20th century in empty barns, old mills and haylofts across the country. They became venues for movie studio producers to scope out new talent.
