The Village Bike-which begins rehearsals today-will be directed by Sam Gold, who recently directed the much-raved new musical Fun Home and this season's The Realistic Jones on Broadway. The Village Bike will premiere at The Lucille Lortel Theatre(121 Christopher Street, NYC) beginning May 22, 2014 with an official opening on June 10, 2014. NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE has announced an international broadcast of the National Theatre of Great Britain's production of Euripides' Greek tragedy MEDEA, in a new version by Ben Power, directed by Carrie Cracknell and starring Helen McCrory in the title role. The production will be broadcast live from the National's Olivier Theatre on Thursday September 4 2014, with varying dates internationally and encore screenings to follow.
Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated director Julie Taymor will be the FIRST TIME FEST'S 2014 John Huston Award For Achievement In Cinema recipient, announced FTF Co-Founders Johanna Bennett and Mandy Ward. Ms. Taymor will also be represented in the Fest's 'First Exposure' Retrospective Program where she will attend to present and discuss with the audience her first feature film, Titus.
Trevor Nunn directs a cast led by Natascha McElhone as Alex Forrest with Mark Bazeley as Dan Gallagher and Kristin Davis as his wife Beth, in the world stage premiere of Fatal Attraction written by James Dearden, opening at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 25 March 2014, with previews from 11 March.

Primal Forces, the brand new off-shoot company of the Boca Raton Theatre Guild, will present the southeastern premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner David Mamet's The Anarchist. The production will run from today, February 28th through March 23rd at the Andrew's Living Arts Studio in Fort Lauderdale, and will star current double Carbonell-nominee Patti Gardner and Jacqueline Laggy.
Fathom Events, National Theatre Live (NT Live) and BY Experience have come together again to broadcast the National Theatre's original stage production of 'War Horse,' pre-recorded live from London's West End, for only one night in cinemas across the country tonight, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. local time. Based on Michael Morpurgo's novel and adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford, 'War Horse' takes audiences on a journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of France during World War I. Filled with stirring music and songs, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-size puppets by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to life on stage.
