The all-male Shakespeare's Globe repertory productions of William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT and RICHARD III have recouped their $3.1 million capitalization costs this week, officially entering the hit column. The productions, which opened on Broadway on November 10, 2013 to ecstatic and universal critical praise, have been playing to capacity crowds at Broadway's Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), where they have broken the house record several times.

The American Museum of Natural History continues the seventh season of One Step Beyond with DJ sets by Juan Maclean, Jacques Greene, and Kevin Graves. The event will take place in the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe on Friday, January 17.
The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University announced today the cast and creative team for the world premiere production of Witness Uganda, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie. The production begins performances at the Loeb Drama Center at 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge on February 4, and will run through March 16. It is available for press viewing from Wednesday, February 12, at 7:30pm.
Smithsonian Channel has launched on Time Warner Cable's widely distributed Preferred TV Package throughout TWC's footprint effective immediately. This allows Time Warner Cable's Preferred TV subscribers to see the channel in both standard and high definition. Smithsonian Channel was previously only available for an additional subscriber fee through the TWC HD tier. The announcement was made today by Tom Hayden, President of Smithsonian Channel.

On Sunday, January 12, 2014, Long Beach Opera (LBO) and the Museum of African American Art come together for an afternoon devoted to the Harlem Renaissance. As a lead-in to LBO's production of Duke Ellington's rarely performed opera Queenie Pie, "Duke and the Renaissance" will explore the rich variety of art, music and literature that came out of 1920s-1930s Harlem. Highlights include a guided tour of the museum, an all-Ellington live performance, bubbly drinks and pie (what else?) in a memorable tribute to an American icon and Harlem's era of cultural brilliance.
Remaining performances of TAKE ME OUT, the Tony Award-winning drama by Richard Greenberg scheduled at the Flight Theater in the Complex, have been postponed due to a change of director. The show will open again soon!

The marathon begins at 6:00pm and continues through 6:00pm Saturday, December 28.
