The American Museum of Natural History continues the seventh season of One Step Beyond with DJ sets by Juan Maclean, Jacques Greene, and Kevin Graves. The event will take place in the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe on Friday, January 17.

During this ongoing party series, guests can dance in the Museum's Rose Center for Earth and Space to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. Guests can also enjoy the Hayden Big Bang Theater, located in the lower part of the Hayden Sphere, which features a dynamic multi-media presentation narrated by acclaimed actor Liam Neeson that takes visitors on a thrilling four-minute trip from Earth to the edge of the visible universe. Each ticket also includes one pass to the Museum for future use. One Step Beyond is presented with Brightest Young Things.

Juan MacLean (DJ set), headliner

Juan Maclean has created singles like "By The Time I Get to Venus," "Happy House," and "The Simple Life," and full-lengths such as "Less Than Human," "The Future Will Come," "Everybody Get Close," and "DJ KiCKS," a mix cd selected by DJ Magazine as the #1 essential mix of 2010. Maclean has also arranged remixes for colleagues like Air, Yoko Ono, Daft Punk, David Gahan, Franz Ferdinand; international tours with Cut Copy and Shocking Pinks; and DJ gigs from Telluride to Tel Aviv.

Jacques Greene, support

Montreal producer Jacques Greene has released "Ready," "Another Girl," "On Your Side," and "LuckyMe," and collaborated with Radiohead, Katy B, and Jimmy Edgar, among others. Greene has toured throughout North America and Europe including Fabric Live, Plastic People, Panoramabar, and major festivals like Sonar, MUTEK, the Bloc Weekender, and Bozar Electronic Weekender.

Kevin Graves, opening DJ

Writer and producer Kevin Graves has performed throughout New York, London, Tel Aviv, Miami, San Francisco, and Paris, at Crobar, Studio B, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Galapagos, Sullivan Room, Hiro, Mr. Black, Caligula, GutterSlut, Booty Call, Dalston Superstore, The Egg, Haoman 17, Club 8, Triple Crown, Social Club, and the JC/DC Fashion Show @ VIP. Graves co-produced the Dance Music Invasion festival with Larry Tee and

created Sweet Spot, his Tuesday night party at Industry.

American Museum of Natural History. Guests should enter through the Weston Pavilion entrance on Columbus Avenue at 79th Street.

ADMISSION:

Admission to One Step Beyond is $25 in advance, $30 day of show. Guests must be 21 and present valid ID. A beer and wine cash bar is available. Advance purchase is recommended. Tickets may be available at the door.
