Emerging Artists Presents JOSEPHINE BAKER Through 10/3

Emerging Artists Theatre, the company that produced last season's hit Penny Penniworth, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of The Sensational Josephine Baker, a rich, comedic, moving musical portrait of the unique iconic Jazz Age legend, Josephine Baker. Preview performances began Tuesday, September 7th, opening night will be Tuesday, September 14 and the play will run through Sunday, October 3rd at TADA Theatre, 15 West 28th Street, 2nd floor, between Broadway and 5th Avenue. Show times are: Tuesday and Friday at 7pm; Wednesday and Sunday at 2pm; and Saturday at 5pm and 9pm. Tickets are $49 and can be purchased by calling 800-838-3006 or online at www.emergingartiststheatre.org.

Dickens spoof PENNY PENNIWORTH Opens Off-Broadway, 9/8

EMERGING ARTISTS THEATRE will present a return engagement of their wildly popular and critically acclaimed production of PENNY PENNIWORTH by Chris Weikel. This spoof of Dickens, directed by Mark Finley, is produced on Off-Broadway contract. Performances of this limited engagement will begin September 8 at TADA Theatre.

Capathia Jenkins and Louis Rosen Perform at Northwestern, 6/25-27

Broadway veteran, Capathia Jenkins, and songwriter and musician, Louis Rosen, bring their concert, 'The Ache of Possibility,' to Northwestern University's Evanston campus in from June 25th to the 27th. As part of the 2010 Summer Music Theatre Festival at the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University, their three performances will take place at 8 p.m. Friday, June 25; 8 p.m. Saturday, June 26; and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, in the Josephine Louis Theater, 20 Arts Circle Drive. They will be joined by virtuoso bassist Dave Phillips. The ticketed event is open to the public.

Vital Theatre Company has extended the production 'ISABELLE AND THE PRETTY-UGLY SPELL,' with music and lyrics by Steven Fisher, book by Joan Ross Sorkin and Steven Fisher and directed by Vic DiMonda, through June 27th at 45 Bleecker Street. Performances continue every Sunday at 1pm through June 27th. Tickets are $25. The show is appropriate for ages 3-12.
