Duncan Sheik Set for Old Globe Concert in Advance of His WHISPER HOUSE Mounting, 1/11/2010

Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that Tony and Grammy Award winner Duncan Sheik will perform in concert with members of his touring band at the Globe prior to the World Premiere of his new musical, Whisper House, on Jan. 11 at 8:00 p.m. Sheik has toured extensively this year and will perform songs from Whisper House and his other acclaimed albums. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Globe's education activities. Tickets to Duncan Sheik in Concert are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale on Dec. 11 at 10:00 a.m.

The Old Globe Unveils The Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Announces Month-long Series Of Events

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced a month-long series of events celebrating the opening of The Old Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. The Theatre Center incorporates the flagship Old Globe Theatre and a newly-constructed four-level facility housing the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center, Hattox Hall, Erna and Andrew Viterbi Lobby, Lady Carolyn's Pub and Donald and Darlene Shiley Terrace.

Mikel Sarah Lambert Joins Cast Of THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION, Runs 9/26-11/1 At Arena Stage

Mikel Sarah Lambert will take on the role of Margaret in the West Coast premiere of Evan Smith's The Savannah Disputation. The previously announced Robin Pearson Rose has left the cast due to an unexpected family emergency. Directed by Kim Rubinstein, The Savannah Disputation will run in the Globe's Arena Stage at the San Diego Museum of Art's James S. Copley Auditorium Sept. 26 - Nov. 1, 2009.

Real-Life Married Couple Paige Davis & Patrick Page Open I DO! I DO! at The Old Globe

Real-life married couple Paige Davis and Patrick Page will star in a special engagement of I Do! I Do!, the classic Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt musical based on The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog, in The Old Globe's new Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. The well-loved classic, by the creators of The Fantasticks, spans five decades in the life of a married couple - from the nervousness of their wedding day to the wisdom of old age. I Do! I Do! will run Dec. 11 - 20, 2009. Previews take place on Dec. 11 at 8:00 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 2:00 p.m. Opening night is Saturday, Dec. 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale to subscribers only. Executive Producer Lou Spisto announced today that The Old Globe will produce the contemporary musical drama Street Lights. The new musical, created by composer and lyricist Joe Drymala, chronicles a group of inner city teenagers who fight to save their high school music program from being shut down. Directed by Ryan J. Davis, Street Lights uses hip hop, R&B and pop to tell a timeless story in the musical language of today's youth, while creating a bridge to earlier generations by incorporating samples of classic civil rights anthems.
