Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper joined TODAY's Kathie Lee and Hoda this morning to talk about the global expansion of her musical KINKY BOOTS, her struggles with psoriasis, and a couple of new projects, including Broadway work and a new album.

Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Tony and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots) debuts at the Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis) tonight, July 28-Aug. 2, 2015 as the final production in the 2014-2015 Thrivent Financial Broadway on Hennepin Season. Company of Fools, as part of their 20th Celebration Season, has created a 20th Season Souvenir Book. Featuring Kirsten Shultz's photography, tributes, reflections and stories from the Company's artists, this special book is an entertaining and profoundly personal history of the Fools.

Today in 2008, A Catered Affair closed at the Walter Kerr Theatre, where it ran for 116 performances. A Catered Affair is a musical with a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by John Bucchino. It is based on both the 1956 film The Catered Affair written by Gore Vidal and the original 1955 teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky, set in 1953 in the Bronx. John Doyle directed the production, which starred Fierstein, Faith Prince and Tom Wopat.

Since the 2014-15 Season at the Durham Performing Arts Center has wrapped up, I decided to give you guys my top picks for what were some of the best (and the worst) productions I saw this past season. I've seen many quality productions within the past year, with one little exception.

BroadwayWorld has just confirmed the final casting for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Monty Python's Spamalot, the parody of the Arthurian Legend which won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005. Those joining the starry company are Broadway vets Kevin Chamberlin as Sir Bedevere, Tom Deckman as Not Dead Fred, and Rick Holmes as Sir Lancelot.

The 25th epic edition of Broadway Bares celebrated the golden age of Broadway with an evening of ripped dancers, cheeky choreographers and sumptuous showgirls on Sunday, June 21, 2015, for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.  Check out the video below!

Goodspeed Musicals presents LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, which began on June 26, and opens tonight, July 15, 2015 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige have joined the cast of NBC's highly-anticipated THE WIZ LIVE! Latifah will play the Wiz, and Blige will be the Wicked Witch of the West. 

NBC is having an open casting call for the lead role of Dorothy in the network's upcoming holiday special "The Wiz Live!," set for Thursday, Dec. 3.
