The 2009 series will run July 17 - August 30, at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.), and is made possible through the generous support of National City, now a part of PNC.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi will receive The Wyler Award, one of The Humane Society of the United States' most prestigious honors, at The 23rd Genesis Awards on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. Given to a celebrity or public figure who has made news on behalf of animals, the award is named after the late Genesis Awards founder Gretchen Wyler, the Broadway headliner and animal activist.
'Ellen and Portia stand up for their beliefs, and they have had a major impact in spreading the message about animal protection,' said Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States. 'They had a particularly significant role in helping to pass Proposition 2, and they helped make the case to the people of California and to the rest of the nation that all animals deserve humane treatment, including animals raised for food.'

Warren Beatty will receive the American Film Institute's (AFI) 36th Life Achievement Award in a special ceremony airing on Wednesday, June 25 at 9/8C on USA Network.
The event will feature tributes from a number of Beatty's friends and colleagues-including Halle Berry, Don Cheadle, Faye Dunaway, Jane Fonda, Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton and Barbra Streisand among others. In addition, there will be special tributes from Gene Hackman, Goldie Hawn, Harvey Keitel, George McGovern, Quentin Tarantino and others. The evening will also feature performances from Pras and Earl Scruggs.

The AFI Life Achievement Award is regarded as the highest honor for a career in film. Alan Dale to Play King Arthur in West End 'Spamalot'

Alan Dale, best know on television for playing Publishing mogul Bradford Meade in Ugly Betty, will join the London cast of Monty Python's Spamalot at the Palace Theatre from 3 March 2008 to play King Arthur, following in the footsteps of Tim Curry, Simon Russell Beale and Peter Davison (who continues in the role until 1 March 2008).
