Sickness didn't stop the show however, and the company celebrated their opening on the originally planned March 12- last night! Gallagher returned to the show earlier this week, but BroadwayWorld has just learned that he will be out again tonight, March 6, and the matinee tomorrow, March 7. Gallagher is expected to return for the evening performance. Understudy James Moye will perform the role of Oscar Jaffee in his absence.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway production of On the Twentieth Century will now open on Sunday, March 15, as a result of Peter Gallagher missing a week of performances due to a sinus infection. Gallagher returned to the show yesterday, but BroadwayWorld has just learned that he will be out of both performances today, March 4, and tomorrow. Gallagher is scheduled to return on Friday, March 6. Understudy James Moye will perform the role of Oscar Jaffee in his absence.

Due to unprecedented public demand, an extra performance has been scheduled on Sunday 5 April at 3pm for Lonny Price's production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, A Musical Thriller at the London Coliseum. Tickets for the 5 April performance, including 300 seats at £10 each, will go on sale today (3 March 2015) at 10am. Sales for Sweeney Todd broke English National Opera box office records last September and the few remaining seats for performances from 30 March are available through the box office.

Following a record-breaking 2014-15 season, Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier community theatre company, announced last night the six productions that will comprise the lineup for its 75th Anniversary season, 'Dare to Dream.'

Today in 1973, A Little Night Music opened at the Shubert Theatre, where it ran for 601 performances. A Little Night Music is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler. Inspired by the Ingmar Bergman film Smiles of a Summer Night, it involves the romantic lives of several couples. Since its original 1973 Broadway production, the musical has enjoyed professional productions in the West End, by opera companies, in a 2009 Broadway revival, and elsewhere, and it is a popular choice for regional groups. It was adapted for film in 1977, with Harold Prince directing and Elizabeth Taylor, Len Cariou, Lesley-Anne Down and Diana Rigg starring.

The Arizona premiere of FOLLIES opened on the Gyder Stage at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts on February 20, 2015. The music and lyrics of the dazzling FOLLIES score are by Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim. The book is by Academy Award winner James Goldman, also known for The Lion in Winter. On February 16, Manhattan Concert Productions brought the Drama Desk and Tony Award-winning score of PARADE back to Lincoln Center. PARADE was brought to life for one night only at Avery Fisher Hall. Three-time Tony Award winner and original composer Jason Robert Brown conducted a star-studded cast and full chorus, joined by Olivier Award nominee Gary Griffin as director, and Tom Murray as music supervisor.
