The Old Globe invites your participation and coverage as it begins presenting shows through an exciting new producing platform, Globe for All. This free-of-charge tour of a professional production of Shakespeare will allow the theatre to serve more communities throughout San Diego by collaborating with a diverse range of local organizations. Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein directs the first production, Shakespeare's fascinating romance All's Well That Ends Well. He has cast local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program. The first Globe for All free Shakespeare tour will begin October 28 and will culminate in three low-cost performances on November 7 to 9 in the Globe's Hattox Hall, part of the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center in the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has announced the results of its search for ten-minute plays with social impact. In early 2014, the division sought plays that address issues of the environmental crisis or global violence against women and girls. Over sixty plays were received. Seven of them will be read on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7pm as part of the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, an annual event that highlights the relationship between art and social activism. American Theater Company (ATC) kicks off its 30th Anniversary season with two Chicago premieres exploring healthcare in America: Anna Deavere Smith's documentary Let Me Down Easy featuring ATC Ensemble Member Usman Ally, and Mercy Strain by Michael Milligan, top prize winner at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival. The residency program seeks an emerging writer who will collaborate with the studio for one year, develop a new play and receive a $1,000 stipend. The current resident is Dennis Staroselsky and previous residents include Halley Feiffer, Mia Chung, Anton Dudley, Christina Gorman, Zayd Dohrn, and Peter Nickowitz.
