Rosendorf One Productions to Present Christopher B. Latro's ABSOLUTION

Rosendorf One Productions will present three world-premiere, commercial Off-Broadway productions by up-and-coming playwright - and New York native - Christopher B. Latro, beginning with the new dark comedy "Absolution" set to begin performances December 1 prior to an official press opening of December 10 at St. Luke's Theatre (308 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) in Manhattan.

THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN Begins Previews Tonight Off-Broadway

VH Theatrical Development Foundation proudly announces the Off-Broadway premiere of THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN, a new play by acclaimed author Laura Pedersen, directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser. THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN will be performed tonight, October 16th through Sunday, December 14th at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce Street, Manhattan). The Press Opening is Sunday, October 26th, 2014 at 3PM.

Cast Announced for The Old Globe's GLOBE FOR ALL Free Shakespeare Tour, Beginning 10/28

The Old Globe invites your participation and coverage as it begins presenting shows through an exciting new producing platform, Globe for All. This free-of-charge tour of a professional production of Shakespeare will allow the theatre to serve more communities throughout San Diego by collaborating with a diverse range of local organizations. Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein directs the first production, Shakespeare's fascinating romance All's Well That Ends Well. He has cast local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program. The first Globe for All free Shakespeare tour will begin October 28 and will culminate in three low-cost performances on November 7 to 9 in the Globe's Hattox Hall, part of the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center in the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

HOW WE GOT ON: a Coming-of-Age Story Set During the Golden Age of Hip-Hop Comes to the Outcalt Theatre 10/24–11/16

Cleveland Play House proudly introduces their production of How We Got On, the coming-of-age story of three teens whose passion for hip-hop and determination to succeed generates creativity, artistry and friendship. Playwright Idris Goodwin's How We Got On will delight Cleveland audiences with its uplifting message and great grooves. Directed by Jaime Castañeda, and featuring an eclectic cast of actors including Cleveland School of the Arts graduate Cyndii Johnson, How We Got On is sure to have audiences of all ages feeling the beat October 24 - November 16 in the Outcalt Theatre at PlayhouseSquare. This production of How We Got On is sponsored by Cleveland Clinic.

Harold Clurman Playwrights Division Reveals Winners of 10-Minute Play Search

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has announced the results of its search for ten-minute plays with social impact. In early 2014, the division sought plays that address issues of the environmental crisis or global violence against women and girls. Over sixty plays were received. Seven of them will be read on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7pm as part of the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, an annual event that highlights the relationship between art and social activism. The cast will be comprised of studio alumni and faculty. The selected plays and authors follow:

Harold Clurman Lab to Premiere Dennis Staroselsky's JUST ABOUT CURED, 9/6-18

The Harold Clurman Lab Theater, the professional wing of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, is proud to present the world premiere of Just About Cured by Dennis Staroselsky. Directed by Ian Morgan, Just About Cured will play from September 6 through 18. The cast includes Kate Marie Frank, Marc Menchaca, Marie Polizzano*, Theo Stockman* and John Wodja*. (*Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association. This is an Actors' Equity Approved Showcase.) The Lab Theater's recent work includes the off-Broadway run of Israel Horovitz's Lebensraum and, in Los Angeles, the Ovation-nominated run of Long Way Go Down by Zayd Dohrn.

Phylicia Rashad to Interview Billie Allen at New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, 9/22

The League of Professional Theatre Women is pleased to present Actor/Director/Philanthropist BILLIE ALLEN for the next Oral History interview. ALLEN will sit down with Tony Award-Winning Actress PHYLICIA RASHAD to discuss her fascinating work as a theatre artist. The event will be Monday, September 22, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue. Admission is free, but seats will be on a first-come-first-seated basis.

American Theater Company's 30th Season to Open with Chicago Premieres from Anna Deavere Smith, Michael Milligan

American Theater Company (ATC) kicks off its 30th Anniversary season with two Chicago premieres exploring healthcare in America: Anna Deavere Smith's documentary Let Me Down Easy featuring ATC Ensemble Member Usman Ally, and Mercy Strain by Michael Milligan, top prize winner at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival. ATC's production is the first time Let Me Down Easy will be performed by an artist other than Deavere Smith.

Georganne Aldrich Heller will present Laoisa Sexton's raw, visceral and provocative new play, THE LAST DAYS OF CLEOPATRA, a pitch black comedy set in Dublin, tonight, August 20th through September 7th at Urban Stages, 259 West 30th Street in Manhattan. Visionbox to Present SHAKESPEARE ON SANTA FE DRIVE, 8/3

Visionbox, a professional actors' studio and intermedia production company in Denver, will present an Open Rehearsal of Shakespeare on Santa Fe Drive on Sunday, August 3rd. Doors will open for food and drink provided by Nova Catering at 6:00pm. This Visionbox event will feature Visionbox Ensemble Members and Visionbox Actors. In the play, the two characters caught up in the political espionage drama are Mira, a young female activist who brings Stephen, a famous and slightly older British political journalist, home to her Brooklyn apartment to spend the night. But as they start to expose each others secrets, personal and political desires collide, testing the limits of privacy in the modern world.

INTERMISSION Begins Performances Tonight at Theatre Row

Voyage Theater Company and B2Y Entertainment present the World Premiere of the play-within-a-play comedy INTERMISSION by Daniel Libman. Stella Adler Studio's Harold Clurman Playwrights Division Seeks Playwright-in-Residence for 2015

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has opened its search for the Playwright-in-Residence for 2015 and announced three additional categories for playwrights. The residency program seeks an emerging writer who will collaborate with the studio for one year, develop a new play and receive a $1,000 stipend. The current resident is Dennis Staroselsky and previous residents include Halley Feiffer, Mia Chung, Anton Dudley, Christina Gorman, Zayd Dohrn, and Peter Nickowitz.

The Harold Clurman Lab Theater, the professional wing of the Art of Acting Studio, is proud to present The West Coast premiere of Muckrakers by Zayd Dohrn (Long Way ago Down, Outside People, Haymarket, Sick). Directed by Don K. Williams (Off-Broadway Lebensraum, Turn of the Screw, Look Back in Anger, Libidoff), Muckrakers will play Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM, May 30 - July 2, 2014, with the final two performances playing Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The Lab Theater's most recent work in Los Angeles include the Ovation-recommended run of Lebensraum by Israel Horovitz, and Ovation-nominated run of Long Way Go Down by Zayd Dohrn.
