New England Conservatory's internationally renowned Jazz Studies and Contemporary Improvisation Departments announce their 2021 fall season with an array of concerts featuring NEC students performing with faculty and guest artists.

New England Conservatory's Entrepreneurial Musicianship team is proud to announce the winners of this year's Grow Your Art grants.  

The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center, UJA-Federation of New York, and The New York Board of Rabbis will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz with a concert celebrating the resilience of Jewish music and culture on Monday, January 27, 2020.

With music that No Depression calls “strikingly beautiful, distinctive and exhilarating, with expressive vocals that will find a way into hearts and minds,” Ari & Mia reference the styles of Southern and Northeastern fiddle music and the early American songbook to create a realm where their own compositions cross paths with older traditions. Their stylish and sophisticated music honors the sounds of Appalachian cottages, rural dance floors, and urban concert halls. Combine this with their innovative approach to songwriting and the result is a captivating sound, compellingly evident in their new album, Sew The City, due out March 1, 2019.  The duo is composed of sisters, Ariel and Mia Friedman.

The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast is excited to announce the Florida west coast premiere of Itzhak Perlman - In The Fiddler's House - A Night of Klezmer on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Actor, vocalist and activist Theodore Bikel died July 21, 2015 at age 91 in Los Angeles. He will be remembered in a memorial concert in New York City, titled 'Remembering Theo - an evening of music, laughter and love,' September 27 in The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park and Lexington Ave.). The evening will feature musical performances by many of Bikel's friends and treasured colleagues.

Itzhak Perlman will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct and perform Beethoven's Romances Nos. 1 and 2 for Violin and Orchestra, and to conduct Brahms's Symphony No. 4 and Academic Festival Overture, Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.

The 20th Annual Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards were held on April 11 at the Holiday Inn Boston/Brookline. Founded by Beverly Creasey of the Journal Newspapers and Larry Stark of the TheaterMirror in 1997, the IRNE Awards recognize the extraordinary wealth of talent in the Boston theatre community. 

The three-month celebration of arts across media begins on Saturday, April 9 in Newton and will continue through Saturday, June 11. The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) today announced the nominees for the 20th Annual IRNE Awards, which honors the best of the previous year's actors, directors, choreographers, designers and companies across the full spectrum of large, mid-size and fringe theater companies.

?The Celebrity Series of Boston announced its 2015-2016 season today, marking 77 years of bringing the world's greatest performing artists to Boston. The season opens on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 with author and speaker David Sedaris. In total, the 2015-2016 season will include 48 music, dance and entertainment engagements. The 2015-16 season is sponsored by Amy and Joshua Boger.

World-renowned maestro and violinist Itzhak Perlman just headlined a concert and gala celebrating National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's 100th anniversary and honoring legendary financier and philanthropist Sanford I. Weill and Broadway impresario Jordan Roth last night, at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, 57th Street and Seventh Avenue. NYTF is the longest consecutively-producing Jewish Arts company in the world.

Legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman and renowned cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot join forces for a musical exploration of liturgical and traditional works in new arrangements for both chamber orchestra and klezmer settings on THIRTEEN's Great Performances, airing tonight, August 28 at 9 p.m. on PBS.
