John Noble will star as Sherlock Holmes' wealthy, estranged father when he joins the cast of ELEMENTARY as a series regular in the fall. The character has been referenced in past seasons as being instrumental in Sherlock's first stint in rehab three years ago and in pairing his son with Joan Watson, his former sober companion, now his current investigative partner and friend. In the Season Four premiere, Mr. Holmes arrives in New York City to deal with the aftermath of his son's recent relapse.
Margot Harley, who co-founded The Acting Company with John Houseman in 1972, will step down as its Producer effective the end of this year. The Acting Company began with the first graduating class of Juilliard's Drama Division, which included Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers. "They were classically trained, superbly talented and had worked together for four years," stated Ms. Harley.
The Public Theater announced complete casting today for CYMBELINE, the second show of The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte. Directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan and featuring the previously announced Hamish Linklater as Posthumus Leonatus/Cloten and Lily Rabe as Imogen, CYMBELINE begins performances on Thursday, July 23 and runs through Sunday, August 23, with an official press opening on Monday, August 10. The Public begins the Free Shakespeare in the Park season tonight, Wednesday, May 27 for THE TEMPEST, featuring Sam Waterston as Prospero.

The Flea Theater has announced the New York premiere of The Theatre @ Boston Court's production of HAPPY DAYS by Samuel Beckett, directed by Andrei Belgrader. After critically acclaimed runs in Boston and LA, The Flea welcomes theater veterans Brooke Adams and Tony Award nominee Tony Shalhoub to Tribeca. Tangent Theatre Company, based in the intimate Carpenter Shop Theater in Tivoli's village center, announces a fifth week of performances for their Spring 2015 production: the contemporary moral drama Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan. The play will now run through Sunday, May 3. Set in a Manhattan apartment building lobby, the story examines the shades of grey between right and wrong, and centers on the main character, Jeff, the building's security guard, and three other diverse characters, including Jeff's supervisor William and two New York City police officers (Bill and Dawn). Remaining performances of Lobby Hero are Thursdays - Saturdays 8pm; Sundays 3pm.
The Flea will present the New York Premiere of THE OLD MASTERS. After a run at the First Look Repertory of New Work at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, Sam Marks' dark examination of marriage comes to The Flea.
