Dallas Symphony Association Chairman Sanjiv Yajnik, Music Director Designate Fabio Luisi and President & CEO Kim Noltemy announced today that conductor Gemma New has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor, Dolores G. & Lawrence S. Barzune, M.D. Chair of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She will conduct two weeks of concerts in the 2019/20 season and three weeks of concerts in the 2020/21 season. New's appearances in 2019 will coincide with the DSO's inaugural Women in Classical Music Symposium.

The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (COYO) and its Music Director Vinay Parameswaran today announced details of the 2018-19 season. The Youth Orchestra, under Mr. Parameswaran's direction, will perform a three-concert series at Severance Hall on November 16, 2018; March 3, 2019 (with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus); and May 10, 2019. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association has announced the four conductors who will participate in the 2018/19 Dudamel Fellowship Program: Nuno Coelho, Stephen Mulligan, Elena Schwarz, and Jesus Uzcategui. Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, created the Dudamel Fellowship Program in 2009 to provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil's orchestral, education, and community programs.

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.
Conductor Jordan Randall Smith has recently been appointed to two new posts in the Baltimore area. Beginning April 2, Smith leads the choir, children's choir, and orchestra at Hunt's Church in Towson and will co-direct the church's new digital media department.
