Chicago's Annual Four Score Festival Set for 3/4-11

The Music Institute of Chicago's Four Score Festival, which annually highlights contemporary music, this year features Charles Ives March 4 and Aaron Copland March 11. In addition, the festival spotlights the winner of its Generation Next Young Composer's Competition and other young composers in a free performance March 9. All performances take place at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue, Evanston.

Pit Stop's Snapshots Plays Leonard Nimoy Thalia 2/13

The Pit Stop Players, a twelve-member instrumental ensemble composed of veteran Broadway pit musicians, will present its second annual "Snapshots" concert on Monday, February 13, at 7:00 pm, at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music will host a 'Festival of Friends' musical celebration honoring the life and career of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Harvey Phillips in the Musical Arts Center (MAC) at IU Bloomington on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. The free event, which will take place almost a year after Phillips' passing, will include performances from faculty, distinguished alumni and students from the Jacobs School.
