The 'annual migration North' is happening a little earlier this year as South Florida returns to New York in Flamingo Court. Written by Luigi Creatore and directed by directed by Steven Yuhasz, Flamingo Court will play at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) beginning April 18 through September 6, 2009.

Although operetta wasn't completely on its way out when Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II brought Music In The Air to Broadway in 1932, the popularity of the genre was indeed waning a bit as jazzy and witty scores by the likes of George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart and Cole Porter dominated the decade's theatre music. But the creators of Show Boat, just five years earlier, weren't done quite yet.

Press Night is scheduled for September 25th at 7:30 pm. THE LADY IN PENTHOUSE B opened on July 25th, 2008 with book & lyrics by Peter Napolitano and music by Matthew Ward. The cast features Nancy Dussault (Into the Woods, Side by Side by Sondheim, Do Re Mi (Tony Nomination, Theatre World Award) and Bajour (Tony nomination), TV's 'Too Close for Comfort') as Lady Susan with Stephen Bienskie (Chess and Cats), Michael Cone (La Boheme, Rags and Brigadoon) Gordon Stanley (Cabaret, Ragtime and Beauty and the Beast), JD Webster (Wonderful Town, Ragtime and Showboat) and Sally Wilfert (Assassins). The show ran until July 27th.

Magnolia is set in winter, 1963, as the schools, stores and real estate markets of Atlanta, Georgia are beginning to desegregate-much to the resentment of the white community. Lily, a white landowner, returns from Paris to find the Forest Estate, her family's land, on the brink of ruin. Thomas, a successful businessman and the descendent of former slaves to the estate, has a plan to save the land: turn it into subdivisions and sell it to the white families fleeing the city. Tensions build as members of the estranged family reunite to try and save their beloved land-magnolia trees and all.

Goldberg, Artistic Director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference (NPC) and Paulette Haupt, Artistic Director of the National Music Theater Conference (NMTC), announced the actors cast in their 2008 projects.
